MTV Icon Matt Pinfield Suffers a Massive Stroke, Daughters File For Temporary Conservatorship



Legendary MTV VJ and music media personality Matt Pinfield, best known for hosting shows like 120 Minutes has suffered a massive stroke, according to a report from TMZ. Pinfield, who has had a career that includes hosting Total Request Live (TRL), syndicated Radio, SiriusXM, his own TV show, podcasting, Twitch streaming and serving as VP of A&R at Columbia Records, among other things. His daughters, Jessica and Maya, have filed for a temporary conservatorship, expressing concerns over their father’s ability to manage his health and finances. This is not the first tragedy Pinfield has experienced, as he nearly died crossing the street in a hit-and-run accident in December of 2018. Get well soon Matt!Continue reading

LA based indie rockers, Casino Hearts, have just dropped a cover of the Nirvana classic, “Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam,” along with a music video. The track appears on A Tribute to Nirvana, The Songs of MTV Unplugged in New York, due out February 07th, on French record label, GM Editions. The album celebrates the 30th anniversary of Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged in New York, with further contributions from Current Joys, Camille Jansen, Brad Stank, Levitation Room, Chris Staples, and Far Caspian. ALBUM REVIEW: Godzillionaire – Diminishing Returns


The 1990s brought a little Lawrence, Kansas band by the name of Paw, who put out two full-length albums 1993’s Dragline (which featured the catchy singles “Jessie” and “Couldn’t Know” that got moderate rotation on MTV as well as featuring in the computer game Road Rash) and 1995’s overlooked Death to Traitors. There were a couple of final releases in the shape of the Home is a Strange Place EP and the Keep the Last Bullet for Yourself odds and sods collection before the band’s eventual 2000 split. Continue reading
