CONCERT REVIEW: Judas Priest – Alice Cooper – Corrosion of Conformity Live At The Toyota Amphitheatre

Wheatland, California’s Toyota Amphitheatre is my new favorite outdoor venue. Although this was supposed to be the final bombastic concert of the season, the three-headed beast featuring special guests Corrosion of Conformity (COC), and Co-Headliners Alice Cooper and Judas Priest didn’t deter them from bashing the stage! No doubt, desert rock and classic metal would blend in glorious fashion, I could not wait to capture the evening. The crowd featured mostly classic metal heads, but there were some solid younglings that feasted on what the marquee had on the menu!

ALBUM REVIEW: Electric Wizard – Black Magic Rituals and Perversions, Vol. 1

In 2024, Electric Wizard returns with their first album in seven years, Black Magic Rituals and Perversions, Vol. 1 (Spinefarm Records), a live album. ALBUM REVIEW: Thou – Umbilical

ALBUM REVIEW: Dopethrone – Broke Sabbath

It is well-known to not judge a book by its cover.

However, Canadian sludge titans, Dopethrone, dropped one of the coolest album titles yet, Broke Sabbath (Totem Cat Records). Super descriptive for anyone who has not given these Stoner, Doom-infused sludge gents a shot yet. Seven tracks spanning just shy of forty minutes is the perfect length to see what the group is all about as they drag you through the muddy waters out to a clearing to end you.Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: Witchthroat Serpent – Trove Of Oddities At The Devil’s Driveway

Trove Of Oddities At The Devil’s Driveway (Heavy Psych Sounds) is the fourth full-length release from France’s Witchthroat Serpent. Recorded in single live takes to analog tape at Brittany’s Kerwax Studio, the record is described as being “slower…darker and more evil” that its predecessors, and “an invocation to Satan”.
