Basinfirefest has announced the first eight bands of its eighteenth edition. Blind Guardian, In Extremo, Skálmöld, Kataklysm, Insomnium, Suffocation, Halocene, and Suicidal Angels all appear at the festival, June 27th – 29th 2024, near the town of Spálené Poříčí in the Czech Republic. Hellfest, held every year just outside of Paris, in Clisson, France, continues to up the ante every year with forever growing and impressive lineups! Taking place from June 27 to June 30, 2024, Hellfest will once again be four days long and over 200 bands appearing on six stages. For 2024, the headliners for each night will be Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, Metallica, and Foo Fighters. Ages of swords may one day perish but its legacy will forever reign in the eternity of Valhalla– or so I think. Skálmöld, whose name literally translates as Age of Swords, are back on leading yet another Viking battle, with their highly anticipated sixth full-length album entitled Ýdalir (Napalm Records), which has released some other Nordic folk/viking metal counterparts as well such as Brymir and Månegarm.
