ALBUM REVIEW: Fire From The Gods – Soul Revolution
Anyone can write a call to action song, but actually meaning it, believing it —that can’t be faked. Fire From The Gods encapsulates the true power and reverberation of authenticity. Their message is real, they are real, and that has never waivered throughout their discography. While their debut album Narrative left an impactful first impression, their sophomore album American Sun lost the traction it deserved when COVID cut it’s tour cycle short; Making their new album, Soul Revolution (Better Noise) have all the more weight added onto its release.
CONCERT REVIEW: Beartooth – Silverstein -The Devil Wears Prada – ERRA, Live at Wildhorse Saloon
Easter Sunday 2022, Silverstein and Beartooth took over Nashville’s premier line dancing bar. Yeah, you read that right. Snuggled in the heart of downtown Nashville, Wildhorse Saloon, which typically serves cowboys and country singers, opened their doors to metalcore. Albeit, they may have opened those doors a little too late. The majority of the line wasn’t even in the venue when ERRA took the stage. However, that’s the only negative I could give the venue. In my six years working in Nashville, this is the cleanest venue with the clearest sound and kindest staff I’ve ever experienced.
ALBUM REVIEW: Asking Alexandria – See What’s On The Inside
Hard rock heavy weights, Asking Alexandria, have set and maintained an exceptionally high bar for themselves. It’s extremely disheartening to admit that their new record, See What’s On The Inside (Better Noise), falls slightly short of their usual standard. To be clear, there are very few bands that can achieve AA’s technical prowess. Critically, the record ticks a lot of boxes it’s supposed to. If this had come from a band like Buckcherry or Shinedown, it’d be a great release. The very problem is that this doesn’t sound like an Asking Alexandria album; It’s completely devoid of the biting, soul-exposed, gritty back-alley-of-a-rundown-city sound that made the band who they are.
ALBUM REVIEW: Sun Crow – Quest For Oblivion
Late 2020, the somber Seattle slayers of Sun Crow released their debut album, Quest For Oblivion. Though Ghost Cult missed the initial release, we’re happily taking advantage of the album’s re-release on Ripple Music. It’s no surprise the record topped doom charts, as it’s a perfect showcase of doom and gloom mastery.
ALBUM REVIEW: Corey Taylor – CMFT
Metal heavyweight Corey Taylor has officially made his solo debut with the release of a full record. This new space has granted him the freedom to create songs you’d never find on a Slipknot record, for better or for worse. If you follow Taylor’s career exclusively because of Slipknot, CMFT (Roadrunner) might not be worth your time. But, for fans of Stone Sour, the collection of different hard rock styles and adjacent alternative influences are sure to please. Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: Asking Alexandria – Like A House On Fire – Sumerian Records
Following the monumental impact of their 2017 self-titled, Asking Alexandria’s sixth album Like a House On Fire (Sumerian Records) had a lot to live up to. Thankfully, if anyone’s truly mastered the ability to evolve without betraying themselves or their fans, it’s AA. They’ve stood as a pillar in metalcore and metal for over a decade now, and they’ve made it damn clear they aren’t looking to give up their throne anytime soon.

Australian artists, Northlane, has blasted beyond expectations with their sixth album, Alien (UNFD). The record would be the third for frontman Marcus Bridge, and the first in which he chose to open up about his troubled childhood.
