Ghost Cult is once again honored to be part of Psycho Las Vegas, a goddam heavy metal casino/beach party extravaganza if there ever was one. The filth of Rock, Sludge, Doom, Trad, Hardcore, Prog, and Stoner Metal genres and the glitz of Vegas- baby, all rolled into one. Headlined by Original Misfits, Opeth, Electric Wizard, Corrosion of Conformity, Bad Religion, YOB, Lucifer, High on Fire, GsY!BE, Clutch, Carcass, Triumph of Death, Graveyard, ASG, Primitive Man, Deafheaven, Kadavar, Vio-Lence, Soft Kill, Andrew W.K., Tomb Mold, Power Trip, Full of Hell, and a ton more bands, it promises to be a rager. FESTIVAL REVIEW: Tons of Rock 2019


After six years at the Fredriksten Fortress in at Halden Norway, it was clear Tons of Rock needed more space. So here we are in the biggest city in Norway, Oslo, at the new home for the festival. From my American point of view, this was wonderful to see so many bands I have enjoyed but haven’t made it across the sea. With three stages and forty bands, two of the said stages named in honor of famous Norwegian expressionist artist Edvard Munch. The Scream and Vampire had an electric mix of hard and most styles of metal. In addition to the campgrounds, there was plenty of rides, painted art and music for sale to browse on these bright and sunny Oslo days.Continue reading


Oranssi Pazuzu Books Short US Tour with Insect Ark, Appearing At Psycho Las Vegas


In a rare appearance in North America, Finnish psychedelic/prog Black Metallers Oranssi Pazuzu will embark on an EXCLUSIVE tour of the USA as part of their participation in Psycho Las Vegas 2019. The band will play a one-off show in Los Angeles on August 14th, preceding their performance on August 17th at Psycho Las Vegas, where they join the likes of The Original Misfits, High On Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Bad Religion, Carcass, Old Man Gloom, Power Trip, and many more. Direct support on the tour to come from Insect Ark. The tour runs from October 10th through October 19th, with shows in Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Raleigh, and Atlanta. We are just hours away from the start of Norway’s biggest Rock and Metal Festival of the Year, Tons of Rock! Ghost Cult will be on hand to cover the sights and sounds of the fest and bring you coverage via our socials as well as a full review and photo set after the festival. Check out our preview of the can’t miss bands each day! Taking place from 27-to the 29th of June at Ekebergsletta in Oslo, Norway, the successful festival entered into a partnership earlier this year with Live Nation Norway, for this and future editions of the festival! There was a pre-party last night at the Oslo Opera House where Accept performed with a Symphony Orchestra! Climate of Fear – The Onset of Eternal Darkness


In the early to mid-nineties a particular form of Death Metal emerged. Pioneered by Carcass in the UK, and At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity and In Flames in Sweden, this more melodic style of deathened music was crowned the Gothenburg Metal Scene.
