Death metal has been a constant in my life for well over 30 years (yes, I’m a bit old). Within that time frame Incantation and Nile have been an integral part of that genre and have consistently released album after killer album. So, when they announced The Age of Vile Divinities Tour, I knew I couldn’t miss it. The openers for this tour are Dallas, Texas I Am, and Columbus, Ohio’s Sanguisugabogg– both new up and comers to the metal scene.

ALBUM REVIEW: Testament – Titans Of Creation
Whenever the time-honoured, if ultimately pointless “if it had been a Big Five…” question raises its ugly head, Bay Area bruisers Testament always find themselves at the forefront of the conversation. Even alongside names such as Exodus, Overkill, and Kreator, such is their… ahem, legacy (sorry), it’s not uncommon to find them as one of the top two preferred choices.Continue reading
Joe Payne, Former Bassist of Divine Heresy and Nile, Has Passed Away.
Sad news to report as we have learned that former Divine Heresy and Nile bassist Joe Payne has died. He was 36. No cause of death has been revealed. News of his passing came from a post from his former Divine Heresy bandmate Tommy Vext, who posted a message about Joe on Facebook. Payne had some personal and legal troubles, but he was well-liked and a killer death metal bassist. Other bands Payne was formerly involved in included Lust of Decay, A Sudden Fear, and his most recent Domination Through Impurity, Pain After Death, and Strains. We send our condolences to Joe’s family, friends and fans at this difficult time.
ALBUM REVIEW: Blood Incantation – Hidden History of the Human Race
Chalk it up to me partaking more in the reefer these days and revisiting professional wrestling as a hobby again, but I feel like I took a chair shot to the back of the skull. Why am I feeling discombobulated? Have you tried listening to Blood Incantation‘s Hidden History of the Human Race (Dark Descent)? No? Then why don’t you go to your nearest highway and attempt to run across during rush hour traffic? Best of luck.Continue reading

But is it her swan song, or will it break this reviewer’s arm?Continue reading
