The band continues to tour behind their 2023 album 72 Seasons (Blackened Recordings, read our review here) performing deep cuts, and hits. The tour features a “no repeats” weekend’s events features two different shows, with no repeated songs in the set list either night, along with other events, including their extended merch pop-up shops and their M72 Takeover Weekend! Metallica to Headline Sonic Temple Art and Music Festival For The First Time Ever with Rob Zombie, Alice In Chains, and 100 More Bands
Fans asked and Danny Wimmer Presents delivered—Metallica is headed to Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival for the first time ever in 2025! Metallica has been the #1 most requested act to play the destination event, and to celebrate the occasion, they are bringing two full headlining spots for a “No Repeat Weekend.” Metallica will close out both Friday and Sunday nights of the four-day festival weekend, taking place on May 8, 9, 10 & 11 at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. This will be the band’s first time back to Columbus since 2017 and is their only appearance in the region in 2025. The partnership between Metallica and DWP began when the band headlined two nights with two unique sets at multiple DWP events in 2021, and DWP is thrilled to be able to bring them to Sonic Temple in 2025! Metallica Books The M72 2025 Tour with Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies, Limp Bizkit, and Ice Nine Kills – to Play Sick New World, and Sonic Temple Festivals
Metallica has announced year three of their M72 World Tour supporting their 2023 album 72 Seasons (Blackened Recordings). The band will again play their No Repeats weekend of shows with a different setlist each night. Support will come from Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies, Limp Bizkit, and Ice Nine Kills on different nights. The tour will also include Metallica two-night headline sets at Sick New World, and Sonic Temple Festivals. More tour dates are expected to be announced soon. Continue reading

Metallica Adds More Content to the “Orion A Tribute to Cliff Burton” – with Rare Photos and a New Video of “(Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth”
Metallica’s has added new content to its fifth collection ever, “Orion A Tribute to Cliff Burton!” They just added over 150 Rare & Unseen Photos of Cliff! The band also shared a new video of a live performance of “(Anesthesia) – Pulling Teeth!” Watch it now!
The band commented: We recently acquired hundreds of photos shot by late photographer Russ Marino in Detroit and Chicago in 1985 and 1986. While a few of the photos got the print treatment in magazines back in the ’80s, the vast majority – many of which are alternate images from the same shoot – are seeing daylight for the first time.
Also included are a handful of photos taken by our old friend Harald O, a heroic illustration by Juan Machado, and a digital copy of So What! Volume 20 – Issue 1 in its entirety for you to enjoy.
In case you missed it… the previous two releases featured interviews from close friends and big fans of Cliff. New to this exhibit are extensive conversations with Kirk Hammett, Flemming Rasmussen, Ron Quintana, Harald Oimoen, Death Angel’s Damien Sisson, and Mindforce’s Nick Haines.
This latest exhibition has all kinds of videos, photos, and interviews with Lars Ulrich, Robert Trujillo, Jason Newsted, Mike Bordin (Faith No More), David Ellefson (Kings of Thrash/Dieth/ex-Megadeth), Frank Bello of Anthrax, Becky Baldwin (Merciful Fate), Steve DiGiorgio (Testament/Death/Death To All), John Marshall, Brian Slagel of Metal Blade Records, Brian Lew (Murder In the Front Row, Super7 Toys), Steffan Chirazi (So What magazine, The Metallica podcast), and so many more.
