The famed jewel in the Danny Wimmer Presents festival season crown already boasts Metallica for two nights as a headliner and now has added Slipknot as the Saturday headliner in between, along with Deftones, Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Staind, Sublime With Rome, Rancid, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, Pennywise and many more. Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival is set to debut in a few weeks, taking place May 17, 18 & 19, 2019 Event At MAPFRE Stadium In Columbus, Ohio. System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Disturbed, Ghost, Bring Me The Horizon Booked For Sonic Temple Festival

The festival formerly known as Rock On The Range is now Sonic Temple, and it has its inaugural lineup. The very first lineup is an absolute banger with legends like System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Disturbed, Ghost, Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy, Lamb of God, Halestorm, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Chevelle, In This Moment, The Cult, Killswitch Engage among others. There will also be a comedy tent with Andrew Dice Clay, Henry Rollins and more. Tickets go onsale November 30th at 12 Noon EST at the link below. Taking place at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus (traditionally the home of Rock on the Range) on May 17 – 19, 2019, Sonic Temple promises all the musical firepower of ROTR, but with innovative food and drink options and other features to make it an even more impressive festival experience and more in line with Bourbon and Beyond.

In a major shake-up to the US music festival scene, Danny Wimmer Presents, purveyors of the biggest rock and metal festivals has announced major changes to its spring 2019 lineup. Columbus, Ohio’s Rock on the Range is over after 12 years and being named the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival. It will debut at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus (traditionally the home of Rock on the Range) on May 17 – 19, 2019. The changes are due to a split between Danny Wimmer Presents and AEG Live, the two companies who have co-produced the event in the past.Continue reading →


Rock on the Range Live at Mapfre Stadium

What began at Crew Stadium in 2007 as a one day festival with 14 bands has evolved into a three-day festival with around 60 bands each year. Since its humble beginnings of Rock on the Range, it has sold out. In 2007, the fest sold out at only 30,000 tickets compared to this year’s 140,000 tickets. ROTR has become the “mecca” of rock fests on the east coast. Rockers AKA “Rangers” migrate by the thousands to Mapfre Stadium in Ohio from across the globe to attend. A spiritual pilgrimage of sorts for die-hard rock fans perhaps? I can only speak for myself, but it is an amazing experience to embrace the many cultures.
