Daron Malakian of System of a Down is back with his solo project, Scars on Broadway. Addicted to Violence (Scarred For Life) marks the project’s second album without the drummer who played on the project’s first album and made it feel like a more direct extension of System of a Down. Much like the band that put these guys on the map, there is, at times, a punk feel that owes a great deal to the Dead Kennedys. Where this project finds its own identity is stepping away from some of the Hip-Hop bounce that drove Nu-Metal. This does not mean it forsakes groove; it approaches it differently, which can be heard on a song like “Satan Hussein.” Continue reading →


Casey Chaos (Amen, Christian Death, Disorderly Conduct, Scars on Broadway) Has Died

Sad news to report as Casey Chaos (Amen, Christian Death, Disorderly Conduct) has died. He was 59 years old (EDITOR’S NOTE – CORRECTED FROM 54 IN A PRIOR REPORT). No cause of death has been announced at this time. News of his passing came from a press release by his label, Cleopatra Records. Casey first appeared on the scene with his 1999 Roadrunner Records label self-titled debut, produced by Ross Robinson (Korn, Limp Bizkit, The Mars Volta). Casey toured internationally and chose to be a beacon of hardcore music and real rock n roll. RIP. Continue reading →


Korn and Faith No More Team Up for a Co-Headline Tour, with Scars on Broadway, Helmet and more!

Korn and Faith No More are joining forces for a co-headline tour this summer! The bands will be supported by special guests Scars on Broadway, Helmet, Spotlights, and `68 on select dates. Produced by Live Nation, the coast-to-coast 26-city outing will kick off Aug. 7 in Denver, Colo. and make stops in Irvine, Phoenix, Dallas, Brooklyn, Toronto and more, before wrapping up with a performance at St. Louis’ Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre on Sept. 17. Citi is the official presale credit card of the tour. As such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 12:00PM local time until Thursday, Feb. 20 at 10PM local time through Citi EntertainmentSM.
