Formed in 2004 by Richie Cavalera, the stepson of former Sepultura frontman, Max Cavalera, Arizona groove thrashers Incite have undergone several changes in personnel during their eighteen-year existence but their edge has not been dulled even slightly. Wake Up Dead (Atomic Fire Records), the band’s sixth full-length studio album, is another seething mass of riffs and rage that sees the return of bassist Christopher “EL” Elsten and drummer Lennon Lopez while also welcoming guitarist Eli Santana to the fold.

ALBUM REVIEW: Corpsegrinder – Corpsegrinder

Since George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher joined Floridian death metal legends Cannibal Corpse in 1995, he has gone on to become one of the most highly respected figures in death metal and beyond. Not just for his fearsome guttural roar or for the unnerving ability to grow a neck wider than most people’s heads, but because underneath all the sweat, hair and spit he just seems so damn loveable. From his well documented obsession with World of Warcraft to donating toys to charities and hospitals, it’s quite astonishing how a man who regularly vomits up lyrics about dismemberment, blowtorches, necrophilia and evisceration has gradually developed into something approximating a role model.

With a title like Revenge At All Cost (Rexius Records) I suspected Confess’ latest to sound angry. You’re probably saying, “this is heavy metal, anger is sort of the modus operandi.” And I totally get that. We likely wouldn’t have metal or punk today if it wasn’t for a few young people coming together with some anger or resentment in their hearts and a willingness to do something about it.

Cannibal Corpse Vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher Announces a Solo album for 2022

Legendary Cannibal Corpse vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher will release a self-titled solo album through Perseverance Music Group on February 4th, 2022.  Corpsegrinder – the album   is a 10-song effort is co-produced by Nick Bellmore (Dee Snider/Kingdom Of Sorrow) and Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed). The album features a guest appearance from Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) on the track “Acid Vat” and will be released through Jasta’s new label, Perseverance Music Group. Corpsegrinder will be available for pre-order in the coming weeks; in the meantime, fans can check out the new video teaser here:

An acrimonious divorce that seemed to favour neither party, the remaining members auditioned several well known musicians before eventually choosing Ohio born Derrick Green as the man to replace the outgoing Cavalera brother.

CONCERT REVIEW: The Metal Tour of The Year with Megadeth – Lamb of God – Trivium and Hatebreed – Live at The Concord Pavillion

It had been 511 days, 16 hours, and 42 minutes, and 57 seconds since my last show, but who’s counting? I had fseen one local show, filled with riffs, crowd surfers, headbanging, booze, but mostly stress and trepidation. Still, I needed to see shows again, and see this tour in particular. The Metal Tour of The Year with Megadeth – Lamb of God – Trivium, and Hatebreed was coming and I was excited for it. Not just because this was the first major metal of this scope tour since the abyss that was the last year and a half, but because of the greatness of the bands, We are by no means out of the water with regards to the pandemic, but for a few hours we could forget about our troubles and enjoy some metal for a while.
