Soundgarden has gone down as one of the most important bands to ever come out of Seattle, Washington. Chris Cornell’s 2017 death devastated the music world and spawned countless tributes cementing his legacy. Now a statue erected in Cornell’s memory has its unveiling date, on October 7th. “Chris Cornell: An Everlasting Tribute to Seattle’s Son” will be unveiled by Chris’ wife Vicky Cornell and the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP). Chris Cornell Died One Year Ago Today
It still seems unbelievable, but Chris Cornell died one year ago today. The music world is still being deeply affected by his loss in the year since he passed away, with tributes coming in and his wife Vicky raising public awareness for mental health and suicide prevention causes. There has rarely been a talent like Chris in the music world, and certainly very few artists with both solo success, and acclaim with three different bands such as Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog.
