Fueling the fire of speculation over many months, AC/DC is teasing something on their social media. This is likely the world tour they have been hinting at, with several dates already leaking out via some sources. The band last played at October’s PowerTrip Festival in Indio, California. It was their first show with Brian Johnson since 2016, now that he is recovered from his severe hearing loss issues. Bassist Cliff Williams is rumored to be stepping down again for the tour as well. He officially retired in 2016. The band released their acclaimed album PWRUP in 2020. The simple video has minimal visuals with a possible countdown element, perhaps meaning they will announce the tour on SuperBowl Sunday, February 11th, 2024.Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: The Gems – Phoenix
After experiencing “creative differences” as part of Thundermother, Guernica Mancini, Emlee Johansson and Mona Lindgren left and formed The Gems – a three piece Rock band, and it is fair to say that this Swedish trio’s debut Phoenix (Napalm Records) is in similar territory to their previous vehicle: sixteen tracks of no frills Classic Rock built on chunky riffs and shoutalong choruses. Two band names, three studio albums, one EP, a live album, and a change of vocalists. A lot has happened in the last few years for Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons. From beginning life as a side project for the former Motörhead guitarist, performing covers under the somewhat less than attention-grabbing moniker of Phil Campbell’s All Starr Band, the band announced a much-needed name change the following year and the improvement was both noticeable and immediate.
ALBUM REVIEW: Megafauna – Olympico
Thirteen years later this band from Texas continues to evolve their sound. Now six albums into their career, they have not lost their taste for weirdness as their singer is quick to declare that it is “time to say goodbye to normal people “.
