AC/DC Announces Their Long-Awaited Power Up 2024 World Tour, Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction, Alanis Morissette) to Replace Cliff Williams on Bass

AC/DC has finally announced their long awaited “Power Up” tour! The European tour will begin May 17th in Germany. More dates for the rest of the world are expected to be announced in time. Joining the core of the band co-founder guitarist Angus Young, singer Brian Johnson, guitarist Stevie Young, and drummer Matt Laug (ex Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper, Slash’s Snake Pit) and Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction, Alanis Morissette, Camp Freddy). The band last played at October’s PowerTrip Festival in Indio, California. It was their first show with Brian Johnson since 2016, now that he is recovered from his severe hearing loss issues. The band commented: “We are thrilled to finally announce the ‘Power Up’ European Tour. Angus, Brian, Stevie, and Matt will be joined by Chris Chaney to carry the torch for Cliff. “The tour will see us play shows across Germany, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, England, Slovakia, Belgium, France & Ireland this Summer. Celebrate Late Metallica Bassist Cliff Burton for “Cliff Burton Day 2024” – On What Would Be His 62nd Birthday


Today is the 7th annual Cliff Burton Day, celebrating the late Metallica legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, as officially declared by Cliff’s hometown of Castro Valley and the greater Alameda County. Cliff would have turned 62 today, February 10th, 2024. Continuing with tradition, host Nicholas Gomez will speak with Cliff’s family and friends, about their memories of Cliff. Ozzy Osbourne, Jane’s Addiction, Lenny Kravitz are Nominated For The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Class 2024 


The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame has seemingly favored fewer and fewer Rock bands and very few Metal bands. They have announced their nominees for the class of 2024 and it does include Ozzy Osbourne as a solo artist, (he was inducted in 2006 with Black Sabbath) Jane’s Addiction, Lenny Kravitz, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Oasis, on the Metal and Rock side along with Mariah Carey, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim, Kool & the Gang, A Tribe Called Quest, Sade, and Mary J. Ozzy Osbourne Calls Out Kanye West For Using Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” as a Sample – “I Want No Association With This Man”

Ozzy Osbourne took to social media today to attack rapper Kanye West for allegedly using a sample of a  Black Sabbath track classic at a listening party for the rapper’s new album. West and Ty Dolla $ign hosted the listening party at the United Center in Chicago on Thursday (February 11) ahead of the Vultures album LP’s release and played a track that sampled Ozzy’s live performance of “War Pigs” from the Sabbath singer solo concert at the US Festival in 1983. Scowl and Others Booked for Flatspot Records Showcase at SXSW



Pivotal hardcore label, Flatspot Records, have announced an official South By Southwest showcase on the outdoor stage at Mohawk, Austin, TX, on March 16th . The show is headlined by alternative meets hardcore-punk band Scowl, joined by a number of Flatspot labelmates, including End It, Life’s Question, Buggin and Kharma.
