Levitation festival is back, but at the new location of Palmer Events Center, with additional venue programming across Austin’s Downtown Red River District. The event delivers lineups spannning psych, dream pop, punk, indie, metal, darkwave, electronic and all genres in between. This year’s edition – taking place September 25-28 – features The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Mastodon, Acid Bath, Pavement, TV On The Radio, A Place To Bury Strangers, Blood Incantation, and more. The Sword Book US Tour with Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol and Pink Fuzz

The Sword Books Additional Comeback Shows This Spring


 

Following their highly-anticipated set at Levitation 2024, Stoner rock legends The Sword has announced two additional dates, with more shows on the horizon: April 10 at the Granada Theater (Dallas) and April 11 at Paper Tiger (San Antonio). ALBUM REVIEW: 10,000 Years – All Quiet On The Final Frontier


Sweden truly is a melting pot for all sorts of high-octane Stoner Metal acts – Monolord, Graveyard, Hällas, Greenleaf, Void Commander; you name it. It is almost like the ideal home for acid trip-inducing slow-paced riffs. Even back in 2021, the label/collective Weedian curated a compilation album consisting of the finest psychedelic haze-laden Stoner Metal bands hailing from Sweden, entitled Trip to Sweden. ALBUM REVIEW: Iceburn – Asclepius


Well, that was quite the trip, but in like, a good way. There wasn’t some breakthrough moment of introspective self-discovery or anything of the sort for me but making it through Asclepius (Southern Lord) does feel nice. Where these songs written well ahead of time or were they discovered and jammed out through the recording process? Don’t know and don’t quite care. Iceburn somehow made it work and sound natural.
