The Sword Books Additional Comeback Shows This Spring


 

Following their highly-anticipated set at Levitation 2024, Stoner rock legends The Sword has announced two additional dates, with more shows on the horizon: April 10 at the Granada Theater (Dallas) and April 11 at Paper Tiger (San Antonio). The bands’ classic third album Warp Riders turns fifteen in 2025!  Tickets are on-sale this Friday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. local time. Continue reading


ALBUM REVIEW: 10,000 Years – All Quiet On The Final Frontier


Sweden truly is a melting pot for all sorts of high-octane Stoner Metal acts – Monolord, Graveyard, Hällas, Greenleaf, Void Commander; you name it. It is almost like the ideal home for acid trip-inducing slow-paced riffs. Even back in 2021, the label/collective Weedian curated a compilation album consisting of the finest psychedelic haze-laden Stoner Metal bands hailing from Sweden, entitled Trip to Sweden. ALBUM REVIEW: Iceburn – Asclepius


Well, that was quite the trip, but in like, a good way. There wasn’t some breakthrough moment of introspective self-discovery or anything of the sort for me but making it through Asclepius (Southern Lord) does feel nice. Where these songs written well ahead of time or were they discovered and jammed out through the recording process? Don’t know and don’t quite care. Iceburn somehow made it work and sound natural.

The Sword’s triumphant live return from hiatus was scheduled to be with Primus this summer as part of their huge  A Tribute To Kings US tour Due to the pandemic, it was postponed to next summer, 2021. Reactivated stoner doom band The Sword have shared a cover of early KISS classic track ‘She’! The band does a slow-burn riff-fest of the early heavy rock classic! Galactic Protector (The Sword) Streams New Single and Video – “Liseran Sand”


Veteran musician / producer Bryan Richie, known best bassist for American rock band The Sword, has announced a new solo project under the pseudonym Galactic Protector. Full of synths and dreamy Pop and post-Rock song stylings, the project is a respite from the crusty stoner rock jams Bryan was known for in his previous work.
