Darkwave and synth have been seeing a push in popularity thanks to the hugely successful Netflix series, Stranger Things. The television show which is set in the eighties opening theme has acted as a gateway into synthwave with more and more people checking out the dark and ominous blend of electronic sound.
Stranger Things Season 3′s much-hyped season debuted on Netflix overnight, ready to satiate the fans ready to binge the season. Following the sci-fi escapades of the gang from Hawkins, Indiana, we’re excited for what the season brings hopefully not the last as has been rumored lately. In addition to another incredible soundtrack scored by composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, who make up one half of the synth band SURVIVE, the 1980s soundtrack kicks into high gear with memorable songs from Madonna, Devo, Corey Hart, Cutting Crew, The Stray Cats, The Cars, Huey Lewis, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, Jim Croce, The Go-Gos and much more in just the first few episodes we watched. Psycho Las Vegas has grown and evolved over the years and has shaken off any comparisons to niche European fests and your traditional US fest, itself having no close comparisons, and being its own beast. Having everything under one roof including your stay can lead to late and debaucherous nights for some, packed and planned diverse schedules for the devout, a little compromise of both for others, but an all around good time for all.
