While many bands and artists spend their careers within boundaries of a genre, some others like to tread between boundaries and make their own mark. Italian psychedelic doom group, Ufomammut have and continue to do so with their latest album, 8 (Neurot). Forty-five minutes of mind-melting fuzzy bass and guitar riffs over spacey synth is sure to warp your brain. Also to note, the marketing of naming this album 8 while there are exactly eight tracks on the album is simple, yet gratifying.Continue reading

Ufomammut Releasing New Album
Italian power trio UFOMAMMUT is finishing their seventh studio release, due early Spring 2015 release via Neurot Recordings. While virtually no specific details on the album are yet to be revealed to the public, the album is fully mixed, mastered and going into production now. The record’s title, release date and much more will be unveiled at the dawn of 2015, and mass album and tour updates will ensue through the rest of the year.
In October, UFOMAMMUT proudly released XV, through the band’s own Supernatural Cat label with support from Neurot, a DVD documenting their intense first fifteen years together. For nearly two years UFOMAMMUT has been working on this special video project delivered through XV‘s more than three hours of footage documenting their vast discography and live accomplishments. The DVD features Magickal Mastery Live, a twelve-song live act, as well as interviews, outtakes, and extras, captured over the past decade and a half.
Watch a mini documentary from XV here, and the video for “Zerosette” (from Godlike Snake) here.
