Despite this being only their sophomore release, the emo rock outfit’s previous release, A Moment Of Silence was released almost a decade ago. Since then, The Funeral Portrait have been hard at work, honing their craft putting out singles here and there, all culminating with their second album, Greetings From Suffocate City. Looking to spin a tale across the album, the band are bringing theatrical charm and themes into their works. CONCERT REVIEW: Ice Nine Kills – SKYND – Lansdowne – Defying Decay Live at Manchester Academy 1


 

Opening up the night was Bangkok’s Defying Decay, the seven-piece crammed to the very front of the stage at Academy 1 with masses of equipment behind them. Their sound was a heady cocktail of bludgeoning heaviness and melodic cadences, with frontman Jay Poom Euarchukiati poppy cleans and a liberal dose of groove rounding off the potent mix.

Former Ice Nine Kills Bassist/Vocalist Shane Bisnett Has Passed Away, Age 31


Sad news to start the year as former Ice Nine Kills Bassist/Vocalist Shane Bisnett died on January 01st, 2019 at the age of 31. No cause of death has been revealed. Services for Shane will be held on January 10th in Potsdam, NY. A family man, Shane seemed to be loved by many who came into contact with him either in his music career or other areas of his life. Bisnett was a key member of INK from 2009-2011. Vocalist Spencer Charnas posted a remembrance online. We send our condolences to Shane’s family, friends and fans at this time. Continue reading

Boston four-piece Ice Nine Kills has released a thrilling, ’50’s inspired, music video for “The Fastest Way To A Girl’s Heart Is Through Her Ribcage,” off their latest album The Predator Becomes The Prey, out now via Outerloop Records. Directed by Josiah Moore, the video is done in true Ice Nine Kills fashion with equal amounts of comedy and horror and features a cast full of INK fans. Watch it here.

Vocalist Spencer Charnas comments:

“I’m very excited for everyone to see this video. Not only does it include a devilishly tongue in cheek plot with an eerie 1950’s backdrop, but it’s cast is made up of almost entirely our fans. We put an ad up on our Facebook page asking kids to be part of the filming, and like always, our fans stepped up and made us proud.”

The band will tour with Motionless In White, For Today, and New Years Day on The Beyond The Barricade Tour beginning February 20th.
