Korn and Faith No More Team Up for a Co-Headline Tour, with Scars on Broadway, Helmet and more!

Korn and Faith No More are joining forces for a co-headline tour this summer! The bands will be supported by special guests Scars on Broadway, Helmet, Spotlights, and `68 on select dates. Produced by Live Nation, the coast-to-coast 26-city outing will kick off Aug. 7 in Denver, Colo. and make stops in Irvine, Phoenix, Dallas, Brooklyn, Toronto and more, before wrapping up with a performance at St. Louis’ Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre on Sept. 17. Citi is the official presale credit card of the tour. As such, Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 12:00PM local time until Thursday, Feb. 20 at 10PM local time through Citi EntertainmentSM. The festival formerly known as Rock On The Range is now Sonic Temple, and it has its inaugural lineup. The very first lineup is an absolute banger with legends like System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Disturbed, Ghost, Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy, Lamb of God, Halestorm, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Chevelle, In This Moment, The Cult, Killswitch Engage among others. There will also be a comedy tent with Andrew Dice Clay, Henry Rollins and more. Tickets go onsale November 30th at 12 Noon EST at the link below. Taking place at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus (traditionally the home of Rock on the Range) on May 17 – 19, 2019, Sonic Temple promises all the musical firepower of ROTR, but with innovative food and drink options and other features to make it an even more impressive festival experience and more in line with Bourbon and Beyond.

Daron Malakian & Scars on Broadway – Dictator

I owe Daron Malakian an apology. I was going to make every effort to try and disaggregate Scars on Broadway from System Of A Down, but Malakian is such a huge, distinctive personality and performer with a powerful influence and a unique (and that’s not a word that is used lightly on these hallowed pages) way of presenting his musical ideas that it’s impossible to do so. Added to this, we now know from statements emanating from both Malakian and Serj Tankian that some of the tracks on the second Scars… album, Dictator (independent release) had been mooted for a potential SOAD reunion album, but with that possibility, seemingly increasingly distant, Malakian, who recorded all the instruments as well as the songwriting and performing the vocals, has taken the step of releasing the album after sitting on the tracks for six years.Continue reading →


System Of A Down Confirms A New Album Is Not In The Works

As previously reported by Ghost Cult, System Of A Down/Scars on Broadway guitarist and singer Daron Malakian has confirmed to Kerrang! magazine that SOAD has been stalled in its attempts to record a follow-up to its Mezmerize and Hypnotize double albums, released in 2005. The band had been in the studio the last few years and recorded some demos for new songs, but apparently, Serj Tankian has been the lone holdout.Continue reading →
