Gaerea is nothing short of a beautiful enigma rooted in musical extremity and utter passion. In just under a decade, the masked collective, born in the Portuguese town of Porto, has navigated countless darkened shades of metal, post-rock and artistry. Today they usher in a new era with the announcement of their signing to global metal powerhouse Century Media Records. With the signing news comes Gaerea’s powerful label debut “Submerged” alongside its accompanying video which captures a singular being submerged in an ocean of thoughts. The single which was produced by the band and longtime collaborator, Miguel Tereso of Demigod Recordings, further entwines the thorny branches of musical and emotional possibility that the band has built their reputation on, both live and on record. It started out as a quiet Monday evening in Midtown Detroit last week, but the show happening at The Magic Stick was going to change all that. The snug, swanky second-floor spot is a former bowling alley that provides an intimate space to catch some of the best, up-and-coming bands out there. So having Swedish stars, Orbit Culture headline at this cozy hall made a lot of sense. The Extreme, Modern Metal darlings are currently opening on a few dates for the “Here Comes the Pain” tour with the legendary Slipknot. When they are not crushing it in arenas playing for maggots, they are making their own headlining appearances. They brought along Chicago’s Repentance with them to Detroit and the night was about to get very loud.
Due to incredible demand, heavy titans, and cultural phenomenon, Slipknot are pleased to announce a second LA show has been added to the North American portion of their Here Comes The Pain Tour – Saturday, September 14 at Intuit Dome. Tickets for the newly added show and the entire tour will be available via a general on sale on Friday, May 3 at 10 AM Local at the link below. The band also finally announced Eloy Casagrande as their official new drummer. Slipknot will also head out on their “Here Comes The Pain” 25th Anniversary Tour this summer, as well as Knotfest Iowa in September and two headline shows in Mexico. Continue reading
