CONCERT REVIEW: Ghost – Mastodon – Spiritbox Live at American Bank Center
A Night of Rituals
I always love when a tour finally comes to town, it means I don’t have to do a two or more hour drive to and back. It also means seeing plenty of hometown friends enjoying each other’s company on a Wednesday night. Despite being a weekday, over three thousand people showed up for the hump day of sorcery at American Bank Center with lines of people eager to get inside, buy merchandise and get to their seat or find their spot up front on the barricade. It was pretty cool seeing so many dedicated fans dressed in different versions of Papa in stunning detail as a tribute to Ghost, which gave the other fans in attendance a great keepsake photo opportunity.
CONCERT REVIEW: Oceano – Entheos – Worm Shepherd – Assault On The Living – Beast Live at Empire Underground
After driving in what felt like a monsoon to Albany and enjoying the vegan delights of Wizard Burger by the venue, it was a thrill to witness a top-notch deathcore show and check out Empire Underground finally. The venue is literally hidden down what feels like a back entrance tunnel of a complex and we weren’t sure if we were about to be robbed. It adds to the charm because soon you find yourself in a secret bunker for metalheads that feels like it is out of Cloverfield Lane.
CONCERT REVIEW: Polyphia – Unprocessed Live at The Paradise Rock Club
Polyphia, Polyphia, Polyphia. What can you really say that hasn’t already been said? Well, if the show that they had at The Paradise is any indication… you can say a whole hell of a lot more! Because let me tell you something, I have never in my life seen a line that wrapped around the building twice to try to get into see a show at The Paradise when it was already sold out before the line started. Polyphia is a band that has been doing more for guitar driven instrumental music in the current day and age of rock, than I think anyone is even close to admitting to. Every tour they go on, be it here in states or in other countries, sell out almost instantly. They have some of the most innovative records to date that are much more than meet the eye while Tim Henson and Scott LePage may actually be the reincarnations Steve Vai and Joe Satriani with the mind of a wacked out Hip-Hop producer for a millennial ear. They sold out the club and there were people begging for tickets outside the whole night, let’s dive into this night shall we?
CONCERT REVIEW: Ann Wilson Live at Sony Hall
In a time where people tend to throw around the word “legend”, I had the great fortune to experience an incredibly intimate evening with a true legend at Sony Hall last week. Ann Wilson, the undeniable and unmistakable voice of Heart, delivered the goods on the New York City stop of her tour. She’s supporting her new release Fierce Bliss. The album, like so many others to come out this year, was a product of the abundance of time off courtesy of Covid. Ann used her time very wisely and enlisted the help of a wide variety of heavy hitters including Vince Gill, Gov’t Mule’s Warren Haynes and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
CONCERT REVIEW: Halestorm – The Pretty Reckless – The Warning and Lilith Czar Live at Bank of New Hampshire Pavillion
Gilford New Hampshire welcomed Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, The Warning, and Lilith Czar for a great night of female-led rock n roll bands. Lilith Czar opened the show and performed many songs off her debut album “Created from Filth and Dust” and an incredible cover of Stevie Nicks’s “Edge of Seventeen.” Continue reading
CONCERT REVIEW: Iron Maiden – Lord of The Lost – Airborne Live at Olympic Stadium
Iron Maiden fans all over the world are literally no different as they fly all over the world to see these guys perform. Athens, Greece even with their 30-degree (Celsius or 90 plus in Fahrenheit) temperatures, native Grecians are not fazed by the weather, came well hydrated, excited, and ready to consume beer, and some Maiden tunes.

I’ve never seen GWAR before, I’ve heard about their shows over the years. Now I finally get to experience it myself! Just as I was starting to shoot the second song of GWAR’s set, I took a shot of some fake blood to my right eye. CONCERT REVIEW: Tremonti – Hawxx Live at SWG3
Guitar Gods rarely look backward in coming forward. Mark Tremonti, for instance, has recently aligned his star with none other than a certain Frank Sinatra – but more of that later. The pressing matter in hand is the fretboard master’s ongoing tour of the UK and Europe.
CONCERT REVIEW: Nightwish – Beast In Black Live at Terminal 5
Nightwish is the only band that can make me cry. More on that later on. For now, it’s great to finally have them return stateside and with Beast in Black. I have to say it was kind of nice just to have two bands on a show. I get that everybody wants to tour and play catch up but sometimes less is more.
