Desertfest, purveyors of Great Stoner rock, Psychedelic, and Doom metal festivals the world over has canceled their 2025 festival set to take place in September of 2025. The fourth installment of Desert Fest NYC has now come and gone. I want to start by thanking the crew, they ran a three-day fest with everything starting on time and limited technical difficulties throughout the fest, they worked their backsides off and it showed.
After touring heavily across North America in 2023, in support of their Dumesday Book album, Baltimore duo, Darsombra, have announced a plethora of new tour dates. Desertfest London proudly welcomes the legendary Suicidal Tendencies to their 2024 event as Roundhouse headliners. Celebrating 40 years since their genre-defying first album, prepare to have your mind Institutionalized! Whilst Desertfest remains synonymous with showcasing the best of stoner, doom and psych for over twelve years, Suicidal Tendencies’ headlining performance will add a new dimension to the festival, bridging the gap between the punk and metal scenes that have inspired countless bands worldwide. Other bands added to the bill include Ozric Tentacles, Cancer Bats, Bongripper, Mondo Generator, Nightstalker, Ashenspire, and more. Taking place Friday 17th May – Sunday 19th May 2024, and weekend tickets now on sale.
With Desertfest Berlin announcing its first batch of 2024 bands just last week, sister event, Desertfest London, has followed suit. Taking place May 17th – 19th, the UK festival has kicked off its lineup with Masters Of Reality, Godflesh, Monolord, Acid King, Ufomammut, Brant Bjork Trio, Goblinsmoker, Mantar, and more. Corrosion Of Conformity has announced a three-week tour across Europe, including performances at Desertfest London, Desertfest Berlin, and Soulstone Gathering in Krakow. The band shared a video of their jam room with Pepper Kennan and Stanton Moore (Galactic) this week on social media and are getting ready to write and track a new album. The new album will be their first album since 2018’s No Cross No Crown album, and Moore’s first album with the band since 2005’s underrated In The Arms of God.

2022 is a special year for desert rock / stoner rock / doom metal extravaganza Desertfest London. The event, which takes place across multiple venues in and around Camden and has become a mainstay of the UK heavy music scene, was cancelled in 2020 for obvious reasons and then rescheduled as a special 10-year anniversary event for 2021. Inevitably, the 2021 festival was again cancelled, so the 2022 edition is not only the first Desertfest London for three years, but also a chance to celebrate in earnest a “Decade in the Desert”.
Pantera’s Vulgar Display of Power turns 30 years old on Friday, February 25th, 2022! To pay tribute to the band – Spirit Adrift, hailing from Austin, TX, have covered “Hollow”. Check it out here as well as a video from the band on what the song means to frontman Nate Garrett!
