Celebrated Drummer Dale Crover has been performing with the Melvins since 1984 when he replaced founding member Mike Dillard, since then he’s had stints with Nirvana and collaborated in projects such as Shrinebuilder, Men of Porn and Conan Neutron & the Secret Friends. Furthermore, he performs with Redd Kross, and has embarked on a solo career, first with the Hard-Rock flavoured Altamont and then the eclectic, experimental compositions under his own name. Continue reading

ALBUM REVIEW: Melvins – Tarantula Heart


One day we pulled the curtains open on a bright, new day and out there on the street we were greeted by Melvins, taking their Tarantula Heart (Ipecac Recordings) procession all the way through the town. Zombie teddy bears and dogs in suits up on their hind legs stepped in time while King Buzzo, Dale Crover, and Steven McDonald lead the way, soon joined by drummer Roy Mayorga and guitarist Gary Chester from the flanks.

Melvins Drummer Dale Crover To Undergo Emergency Spinal Surgery, Fill-in Drummer Announced for Tour Kicking Off This Week


 

Melvins drummer Dale Crover will sit out the band’s tour with Boris and Mr. Phylzzz in order to undergo emergency spinal surgery. Filling in for him will be former Melvins drummer Coady Willis (Big Business, High On Fire), who played with the band between 2006 and 2016.

Melvins Share Unplugged Version of “Night Goat” –  Announce Massive Unplugged Collection 


  

The Melvins have announced a newly recorded, career-retrospective unplugged album, Five Legged Dog,  due October 15th via Ipecac Recordings. Chronicling all of their albums from , from 1987’s Gluey Porch Treatments to 2017’s A Walk With Love & Death, their first ever acoustic collections features 36 songs, including the bands deep history of classics such as “Night Goat”, “Honey Bucket,” And “Billy Fish.” The massive collection also features covers by The Rolling Stones, and Alice Cooper! ALBUM REVIEW: Melvins 1983  – Working with God


Working With God (Ipecac Records/Liberator Music) is the 24th release by the Melvins and features their 1983 lineup of Buzz Osbourne, Dale Crover on bass, and original drummer Mike Dillard (although they have been doing a ton of regular Melvins lineup activities with Steven Shane McDonald of Redd Kross). The record encapsulates the Hardcore and Sludge style Melvins have delivered since their genesis. The result is a fresh album that is thrilling and cathartic.

The Melvins Announce a New Year’s Eve Livestream 


The Melvins have announced a New Year’s Eve livestream event: “Melvins Tv: Volume 1, New Year’s Evil” and tickets and exclusive merch are available now. The band will perform a 5-song live streaming event also featuring interviews and extras, on Dec. 31 at 12-noon pacific/3 pm eastern/8 pm gmt/7 am AEDT. Watch the teaser now! The first in a series of streams, the outing features the core Melvins lineup of Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover, and Steven McDonald.
