El Paso groove metal legends, Pissing Razors, are set return to the East Coast for the first time in over two decades. This is their first appearance in the region since 2004, when the band was touring in support of their Spitfire Records release, Evolution. Now back, promoting their 2021 album, Eulogy Death March, the current lineup is the closest to the original Pissing Razors roster in years, featuring Joe Rodriguez, Eddy Garcia, Mat Lynch, and Geo Gomez. Nefariant Shares New Video – “Life On Fire” and Releases a New EP
New York Modern Metal band Nefariant has dropped a new single/video for a brand new track – “Life On Fire” from their just dropped new EP Fowl. They also announced an outdoor headline show on June 12th and a second show on August 21st, as direct support fo in Brooklyn. Both shows will take place at Arrogant Swine in Brooklyn and both shows will follow all current Covid guidelines for safety and curfew. The video “Life On Fire” was directed by Frankie Nasso (Mudvayne, Nothing More) and you can watch it here.
ALBUM REVIEW: Judicator – Let There Be Nothing
While Judicator’s fifth full-length offers their signature brand of historically themed Power/Prog Metal, it comes at a more personal angle this time around. The story of Let There Be Nothing (Prosthetic Records) is based on the life of Belisarius, a 6th century Byzantine general who reclaimed remnants of the Western Roman Empire while wrestling with a crippling marriage. The album never quite reaches the catharsis of 2015’s At The Expense Of Humanity, but it’s nice to see their Blind Guardian worship be tempered with a little extra pathos.Continue reading
FESTIVAL REVIEW: RPM Festival 2019
A three-day music festival in the woods with rock, punk, metal, copious amount of drinking, and an undying sense of community… throw that all in a blender with some camping and yard games and you get RPM Fest. The “Heaviest Party of the Summer” and the unofficial end to the summer in the New England metal scene.
