ALBUM REVIEW: Generacion Suicida – Hombre Nuevo

Latino Punk has quite the history with legendary bands such as The Zeros, The Plugz, Los Illegals, The Brat, and musicians of Latino heritage in the hardcore scene such as Mike Muir (Suicidal Tendencies), Roger Miret (Agnostic Front), Ron Reyes (Redd Kross, Black Flag), and Mario Rubalcaba (Off!). 

Continuing the lineage are Generacion Suicida from South Central LA, who started life as a side project for vocalist and guitarist Tony Abarca and drummer Kiwi Martinez in 2010, and they are joined by Justin on Bass. The band have an extensive and lengthy discography, with three full-lengths, two EPs, and some split releases. Continue reading →


ALBUM REVIEW: Luxury Skin – I’ll Get You Out of Here, Baby

Luxury Skin is the alter-ego of New York-based artist Juliet E. Gordon, who has contributed to many releases over the years. I’ll Get You Out of Here, Baby (Self-Released) is the second album under the Luxury Skin moniker, following 2023’s It’s All Over. Gordon, who contributes vocals, piano, synth, keys and drum programming, is joined by a plethora of other musicians,  performing bass guitar, upright bass, drums, percussion, cello and guitar. INTERVIEW: Butthole Surfers’ Paul Leary on “After the Astronaut,” Twenty-Eight Years Later

GhostCultKeefy caught up with Paul Leary, co-founder and lead guitarist of the Butthole Surfers, to discuss “After the Astronaut,” the band’s ninth studio album, released June 26, 2026, through Sunset Blvd Records. The record has one of the more remarkable backstories in alternative rock history. Originally recorded in 1998 as the intended follow-up to “Electriclarryland,” the album was shelved by Capitol Records, who deemed it uncommercial. The band was subsequently forced to rework the material at Hollywood Records, which eventually became 2001’s “Weird Revolution.” Continue reading →
