Bloodstock Adds The Nightflight Orchestra, Nekrogoblikon, The Crawling, and More to Thursday Night Pre-Party

Bloodstock Open Air unveiled a slew of new bands recently for the festival proper and now has booked new bands for the Thursday night pre-party! The Nightflight Orchestra, Nekrogoblikon, The Crawling, Raised by Owls, and 2019 Metal 2 The Masses winners for Bournmouths Anakim will all help kick off the weekend. Bloodstock’s 2020 main stage headliners are Devin Townsend (Friday), Behemoth (Saturday), and Judas Priest (Sunday) and also includes Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Skindred, Paradise Lost, Life Of Agony, Black Dahlia Murder, Diamond Head, Jinjer, Vio-Lence, Sacred Reich, Gloryhammer, Dark Tranquility, Butcher Babies, Cattle Decapitation, Bloodywood, Memoriam, Ramage Inc, Green Lung, Bossk, Hatebreed, Bury Tomorrow, Sylosis, Toxic Holocaust, Winterfylleth, Exhumed, and Necrot so far. Lindsay Schoolcraft is Nominated for the 2020 JUNO Awards, New Album “Martyr” Out Now!

Cradle of Filth keyboardist and vocalist Lindsay Schoolcraft has been nominated for the 2020 JUNO Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards) for her debut album Martyr! Martyr released on October 7th via her label, Cyber Proxy. Martyr is nominated for the Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year along with other contenders such as Kobra And The Lotus – Evolution (Napalm/The Orchard), Single Mothers Dine Alone – Through A Wall (The Orchard), and Striker – Play To Win (Record Breaking Records/Independent). The JUNO Awards are set to be held on Sunday, March 15 at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Alessia Cara will host the show, which will be broadcast live on CBC. Groundbreaking Metallica Scholars Initiative Enters its Second Year

After year one the Metallica Scholars Initiative with exceptional results including job placement rates exceeding 90%, the legendary Thrash and Heavy Metal has confirmed a second year of its support of community colleges and their career and technical education programs — featuring the expansion of the program from 10 to 15 schools, as well as the addition of matching grants from new partners. The Metallica Scholars Initiative was created in 2019 through a partnership between Metallica ‘s All Within My Hands foundation (AWMH) and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), a Washington, D.C. based organization representing the country’s more than 1,000 community colleges. 10 colleges from communities that had supported Metallica during its recent U.S. tours were selected via a competitive application process, each receiving $100,000 toward programs designed to support students training to enter the American workforce. Black Sabbath has announced Black Sabbath 50th-Anniversary album listening sessions ‘In The Dark’ as BMG and Pitchblack Playback prepare to kick off the 50th-anniversary celebrations for the father of the Metal genres. Fifty years, over 70 million records sold worldwide and with an incredible musical legacy, Sabbath, BMG and Pitchblack Playback confirm two commemorative 50th-anniversary album listening sessions for their debut self-titled album, “Black Sabbath”, to be held “in the dark” on February 11. The sessions will take place at Number 10 in the London, England borough of Hackney starting at 7:30 and 8:30 and the album will be played back in MQA high definition audio.
