Zeal & Ardor have just announced a headline North American tour, kicking off November 23rd, in Philadelphia, and wrapping December 18th in Dallas. Support on the run comes from Gaerea and Zetra. They have also shared their new single, “Hide In Shade,” with a visualizer. It comes from the band’s self-produced fourth album, Greif, due on August 23rd. Otherworldly alt. duo, Zetra, have just released their new video single, “Starfall.” Featuring a contribution from Serena Cherry of Svalbard, it is the first “whisper” of their self-titled debut album, due to be released on 13th September via Nuclear Blast Records. Another bumper 2000trees Festival announcement today (Thursday 7th March), the final one for the 2024 event, with the 3rd and final main stage headliner, as well as a host of some of the finest acts, artists and bands playing across all of the events six+ stages. The 3rd main stage headliner for 2024 will be British rock outfit Don Broco (their only live show of 2024), who have had radio A-list singles, sold out arenas and most recently, a UK number 1 album with ‘Amazing Things’ in 2021. This will be the Bedford 4-pieces first ever appearance at 2000trees, and one that will for sure live long in the memory. Also announced today includes 2000trees royalty and all round legend, punk rock troubadour Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, in the mix for most exciting UK bands around (and also a fully-fledged 2000trees hero) Bob Vylan, one of the most talked about bands in the world right now Wargasm, the stunning Welsh indie band Los Campesinos! (who are playing their first outdoor festival since 2014 at 2000trees), and following on from their 2000trees debut last year, returning rock royalty in Empire State Bastard. 2000trees Festival have today revealed the first multiple band announcement for next years 2024 event, and it is as ever, going to be an exceptional weekend of music. Joining the already announced Thursday 11th July main stage headliner (and UK festival exclusive) The Gaslight Anthem, will be the stunning, Atlanta Georgia 4 piece Manchester Orchestra, who have long been a 2000trees fan favourite and a band that recently completed 3 sold out nights at London’s Union Chapel. Also announced include the recently reformed and much loved Kids In Glass Houses, the brilliant American emo rock band from Michigan, Hot Mulligan, Blackpool rockers Boston Manor and the Ontario two-piece (that make far more noise than two people can possibly make), Cleopatrick. A lot has changed in the twenty years since my first Bloodstock. What began as a relatively small indoor gathering in the middle of Derby city centre now welcomes around fifteen thousand metal fans from around the world annually. From two days, two halls, a signing room, and a “Metal Market” to four days, four stages, a signing tent, art gallery, gaming zone, and curiosities such as Viking battles and even early morning Heavy Metal Aerobics sessions, the changes to Bloodstock have been gradual but necessary.
Final preparations are ready for this weekend’s Bloodstock Open Air, kicking off today, the 10th of August through the 14th at Catton Park, Derbyshire. Sad news as Helloween has been forced out of the fest due to a last-minute illness. They are being replaced by KK’s Priest, led by former Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing.
