The organizers of Wacken Open Air and Telekom realized the world’s first mixed reality festival was a massive success with 11 million live-content-views views. From Rio to Wacken to Tokyo: Millions of metal fans and music enthusiasts celebrated the first edition of Wacken World Wide last weekend. The organizers of Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) and Telekom developed the world’s first mixed-reality-festival. Metal icons such as Sabaton, Heaven Shall Burn, Kreator, Blind Guardian, In Extremo, Hämatom and Beyond The Black performed spectacular live shows on an innovative XR stage specifically built for this event. Ten Years Gone: Peter Steele – 1962 – 2010

It’s hard to believe it has been a decade since Peter Steele passed away in 2010. His death has left a gaping wound in the soul of the music world that can never be repaired. Slipknot Announced as One of The Headliners of Wacken 2020

Danzig Kicks Off UK Tour Dates Tonight

Danzig has embarked on his solo career 30th Anniversary tour with his appearance The run began at Wacken Open Air where Danzig headlined on the main stage. They will complete their tour run with a headline performance at Brutal Assault Festival on August, 11th in Jaromer, Czech Republic. Iconic gothic doom metal band Paradise Lost is the direct support for the two exclusive UK shows. Dates are on sale now at the ticket links below. Two Elderly Men Escape Their Nursing Home To Hang Out At Wacken Open Air

Wacken Open Air’s 2018 festival just concluded and by all reports, it was another banger. In a news story reported by Deutsche Welle, two elderly German men escaped from their nursing home on to attend the first day of Wacken Open Air festival on Friday, August 3rd. The nursing home contacted the police after it discovered that the men were missing from the facility. The men were later found at 3 a.m. at the heavy metal festival, which celebrated its 29th anniversary this year. Wacken Open Air sold out once again, with more than 75,000 metal fans in attendance. Headliners include Judas Priest, Danzig, Hatebreed, In Flames, Running Wild and Arch Enemy.Continue reading →
