Eric Wagner, Vocalist of The Skull (ex Trouble) Has Died


Sad news to report as Eric Wagner, legendary Doom Metal vocalist of bands such as The Skull and formerly of Trouble has died, according to a report from The Obelisk website . He was 62 years old. Eric was to have performed with The Skull at Psycho Las Vegas this past weekend, and was in the midst of a co-headlining tour with The Obsessed. However, he ended up contracting COVID-19 and pneumonia as a result, before passing away as a result. The news was broken on social media by his son. Wagner carved out a legendary career in the genre of heavy metal as a vocalist for over 40 years, since coming out of Chicago. After an incredible run with Trouble in the 1980s which helped revive interest in traditional doom metal, heavy metal and adding other classic rock influences, before the bands’ reunion in 2007. After leaving the reunion he co-founded The Skull, and provided to be no less important, headlining festivals around the world and recording several key albums. Maryland Doom Fest 2020 is Canceled Due to COVID-19 and Other Issues


Maryland Doom Festival has regretfully pulled the plug on the 2020 event, which was to host fifty-plus bands, but was postponed and rescheduled, before reaching this decision. Desert Fest NYC, The Well, Brooklyn NY.

I had to take a moment when Desertfest New York was announced. I only had gotten to experience a real European Festival once in the last few years of my life and it was a game changer. Yet, I had yet to enjoy a Desertfest yet. The excitement I felt getting have this festival come practically to my backyard, and into two clubs I visit with regularity was just icing on the cake. Orange Goblin Announce US Headline Tour


Stoner Doom Metal greats Orange Goblin have announced an extensive US tour. It will be their first US tour in five years and includes select stops in NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas and an appearance at The Muddy Roots Festival in Cookeville, TN. Weedeater will now be joining the band as direct support in Chicago at Thalia Hall, with Black Cobra, The Skull, Mothership and Wo Fat on other dates, with more to be announced soon.
