UPDATED: Faith No More has released their previously vinyl-only single of the Alexander Hacke (Einsturzende Neubauten) remix of “Superhero” – “Superhero (Battaglia Remix)” from their 2015 comeback album, Sol Invictus (Ipecac Recordings). The band was to embark on their first US tour in six years with System of a Down, included Riot Fest, Knotfest Iowa, Aftershock Sacramento, and their two shows at Banc of California Stadium, but canceled all tour date to a crisis within the band.
With bands taking so much time between studio albums these days, it’s astonishing to believe that in the space of just three years, between 1970 and 1973, Brummie icons Black Sabbath released no less than five of the most important records in the annals of heavy metal.
Infamous vocalist Ronnie Radke isrenowned for over-introspection when it comes to his music. His band’s direction on previous album Just Like You, was a throwback to his Escape The Fate days as he felt people were yearning for that nostalgia trip. Having gotten that out of the system, fourth album Coming Home (Epitaph) was about finding and defining a style, and staying focused to a conceptual thread throughout the music. Faith No More is starting a second leg of a US tour promoting Sol Invictus tonight. Speaking about the reception the album has received from fans and critics, FNM founder and bassist Billy Gould has this comment:
“What this tells me… is that there is a need out there; people want to hear things that exist outside the mold. It makes me feel grateful and it gives me hope.”
