ALBUM REVIEW: Duff McKagan – Lighthouse


 

Duff McKagan is an interesting character. Having released his first solo album in 1993, a big gap followed till 2019’s Tenderness, with Lighthouse (BFD Records /Orchard/Sony) his third. This of course is but a fraction of McKagan’s musical story. Consistently coming across as the most likeable out of the classic Guns N’ Roses lineup (in which he played bass and for his part was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), such a rock pedigree is already more than most mere mortals would ever get a sniff at.

Guns N Roses Postpones Their St. Louis Concert This Weekend Due to Illness


 

Guns N Roses has postponed their concert this weekend at Cardinals Stadium in St. Louis, due to illness in their camp. UPDATE: The band has not made a public statement  The band formally announced the postponement but has not indicated which member of the band has fallen ill. But fans have been asked to hold their tickets for a rescheduled date TBA. Fans unable to make the new date can receive a full refund at their point of purchase. GNR is continuing with the biggest selling Rock Music tour of All-time since their 2015 reunion. They recently released a new single and video for the track “Perhaps!” The track can be streamed on all DSPs, and the video is on YouTube at the link below. “Perhaps” has its roots in the controversial album Chinese Democracy, as a leftover that did not make the final album. The band has reworked the track, as they have done several times in the last few years. The track features piano, some cool riffs, the iconic voice of W. Axl Rose, and a lot of orchestration. Both Slash and Duff MacKagan have confirmed the band is working on new music with no release date in mind. They are scheduled for more dates in the USA including Aftershock, Power Trip Festival this fall alongside Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Tool, and Judas Priest.

Slash of Guns N Roses Launches a New Horror-Based Production Company – BerserkerGang 


 

According to a published report from Variety, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has launched a new horror production company. BerserkerGang is a partnership between Slash and Michael Paszt, James Fler and Andrew T. Hunt of Raven Banner; Rodrigo Gudiño of Rue Morgue magazine; and producer Pasha Patriki of Hangar 18 Media.

Guns N’ Roses Announces World Tour Dates for 2023


 

Guns N’ Roses return to the road on a massive 2023 World Tour produced by Live Nation, headlining stadiums, festivals, and arenas throughout the summer and fall. The powerhouse rock band launch this jaunt on June 5 in Tel Aviv, Israel at Park Hayarkon and will continue across Europe through July 22, wrapping in Athens, Greece. The band will continue onto North America, starting on Saturday, August 5 in Moncton, NB at Medavie Blue Cross Stadium, and will visit historic venues across the country such as Fenway Park in Boston, MA on August 21 and Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL on August 24. The tour concludes in Vancouver, BC at BC Place on Monday, October 16. Guns N Roses, Survivor, and Queen Top The List of Greatest Rock Guitar Riffs of All Time in A New Poll


A new nationwide study in the United Kingdom by Muse Group, makers of Ultimate Guitar, has revealed a list of the most iconic guitar riffs of all-time. Number one one the list was Guns N Roses “Sweet Child ‘O Mine” as the 1987 37 percent of the vote.The riff of the song – which reached Number 6 on the UK chart in 1989 – actually came from Slash’s warm up exercise before a rehearsal where he started playing a “circus” tune, which he then developed into the full riff according to rock legend. Second on the list was Survivor’s 1982 earned “Eye of The Tiger” (29 percent of the vote), which featured in the classic Sylvester Stalone movie  Rocky III. Queen’s legendary 1980 hit “Another One Bites The Dust” (28 percent). Written by bassist John Deacon, the song was featured on the group’s eighth studio album The Game and was a worldwide hit.
