And so the Metallica riff machine rolls on! forty years after their debut album Kill Em All (1983) laid the blueprint for the Thrash Metal genre, they return with record number … well that’s kind of up for debate depending on how you view their discography, and whether you count live albums, covers album and erm collaborations. But 72 Seasons (Blackened Recordings Inc) is here, their latest artistic statement four decades into a career that has seen them rise from the US West Coast underground, to become the most successful Heavy Metal band of all time. Continue reading

OTTTO is a trio out of Venice Beach that features a style that combines thrash and funk with modern metal. Life is a Game (ORG) is their debut album. Perhaps the most notable member of the band is their bass player, Tye Trujillo, the son of Metallica’s Robert Trujillo.

Robert Trujillo Joined Metallica 20 Years Ago Today 


Today (February, 24th, 2023) is the 20th anniversary of bassist Robert Trujillo joining MetallicaMetallica marked the occasion by sharing a post on social media with a  throwback photo from the day, with the caption: “20 years of @robtrujillo and counting! Our brother joined the band #OnThisDay in 2003.” Robert has played on the last three Metallica releases: 2009’s Death Magnetic, 2016’s Hardwired… to Self Destruct, S&M 2 (2020), and the upcoming 72 Seasons (Blackened Recordings).

At seventy-three years old, Ozzy Osbourne has virtually nothing left to accomplish and even less to prove. TV personality, singer/songwriter, occasional actor and co-founder of an entire genre of music, if there’s anyone in the world of hard rock and metal who deserves to put their feet up with a pair of comfy slippers and a hot cup of cocoa then it’s the lovable Brummie seemingly incapable of using a television remote control.

Watch Metallica and Miley Cyrus Perform “Nothing Eles Matters” on The Howard Stern Show


 

Metallica performed its classic song “Nothing Else Matters” with pop star Miley Cyrus on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” yesterday morning (Thursday, September 9). You can watch video of the performance below. Miley’s appearance was in celebration of release of the remastered deluxe box set of Metallica’s self-titled fifth album and also features Elton John, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, frequent collaborator Andrew Watt and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo. Appearing via video link, Elton told Howard his decision to play piano on the star-studded cover was an absolute “no-brainer.” “This is one of the best songs ever written, to me. It’s a song that never gets old. Playing on this track I just couldn’t wait because the chord structure, the melodies, the time changes — it’s got drama written all over it,” he said.  Watch it now!Continue reading
