Chicago Open Air, buoyed by naming Rammstein as their inaugural headline act, has now added a plethora of bands including Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, Chicagoans like Disturbed, Chevelle, and Ministry, plus Meshuggah, Of Mice and Men,In This Moment, Hollywood Undead, Trivium, Carcass, Hatebreed, Periphery, Drowning Pool, Butcher Babies, Through Fire, Breaking Benjamin, Pop Evil, Gojira, Deafheaven, The Devil Wears Prada, Helmet, Nothing More, Saint Asonia, Miss May I, Beartooth, Silver Snakes, City Of The Weak, Marilyn Manson, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, Babymetal, Asking Alexandria, Corrosion Of Conformity, Letlive. All That Remains, We Came As Romans, Jim Breuer & The Regulators, Upon A Burning Body, Gemini Syndrome and more. With this incredible lineup of talent as well as craft beer and “Gourmet Man Food”, Chicago Open Air from the very outset is vying to become the premiere American music festival.

Disturbed released a statement about playing the festival in their hometown:

“It is long overdue that one of the greatest rock cities in the world has a festival of its own. We are honored and excited to be one of the headliners at the inaugural Chicago Open Air festival in our hometown of Chicago.”

Slipknot Books Summer US Tour With Marilyn Manson And Of Mice And Men

Slipknot has booked another expansive summertime tour for the USA. Dates are pending, but the entire tour itinerary is below, and is generally a good gauge of tour routing. Marilyn Manson and Of Mice And Men will open all dates. Slipknot’s new single ‘Goodbye’ is currently at radio and streaming services, as is .5: The Gray Chapter (Roadrunner) the bands’ album from 2014 they continue to support.

Of Mice And Men Singer Hospitalized, Tour Postponed

Austin Carlile, the singer and front man of the band Of Mice And Men has fallen ill, and been hospitalized, forcing the immediate postponement of their current “Full Circle Tour”. The first show canceled was Sunday night’s show at Soma in San Diego, CA, which was highly anticipated and a near sell-out at the time of the notice. The band posted to Facebook with a message about the situation:

Cincinnati metalcore outfit Revision, Revised is streaming their new Cold Eye Productions produced lyric video for “Dead Icon” off of their debut EP of the same name. Joey Sturgis (Attack Attack, Of Mice And Men) produced the record, which will be out later in the year. The band has a couple of upcoming shows.

Prolong The Agony sign to In At The Deep End, announce EP & debut album

Prestigious label In At The Deep End, who have been responsible for releasing breakthrough platters from acts such as SylosisFeed The Rhino, Suicide Silence and Gallows, have confirmed they have snapped up aggressive metalcore stars-in-waiting Prolong The Agony.

Hailing from Portsmouth, UK, the band have inked a deal with the influential label and are shaping up to release their debut EP All We Are on April 20, with a first full length to follow later in the year.

Frontman Larry Welling added: “Signing to IATDE is something we truly never expected and it’s humbling to say the least. To join a roster (past and present) that have had such an influential impact on the UK music scene, bands that we have personally grown up listening to, is a real honour and one that we’ll always be grateful for. We have huge respect for the way this label conducts itself and its long lasting reputation speaks for itself!”
