Shane Embury’s Dark Sky Burial Shares a New Single and Video, New Album Incoming


Led by Napalm Death bassist Shane Embury, Dark Sky Burial has announced a new album, their fourth, Omnis Cum In Tenebris Praesertim Vita Laboret! It is releasing on December 10th 2021via Embury’s own Extrinsic Recordings label., and the album’s title translates as, “Life is one long struggle in the Dark.” Like the previous music under this moniker, this is a drastic departure for Embury known for his 30 plus year career in Grindcore and Death Metal. Shane has also shared the video for first single, “Mind Rat” which you can watch now.

Napalm Death, Converge, Pig Destroyer, Municipal Waste, Deadguy and More Confirmed for Decibel Metal and Beer Festival 2021



The fest you have been waiting for is finally happening! The full line-up of Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly – sponsored in part by Metal Blade Records – has rebooked for this fall, 2021! The previously announced headliners Napalm Death, Converge, Pig Destroyer will all appear and play special full-album sets. Joining the bill, Deadguy will reunite their Fixation on a Coworker lineup to perform their first show in nearly 25 years. Also joining the long-awaited party on September 25-26, 2021 are Municipal Waste, Midnight, Imperial Triumphant,  Blood IncantationWarhorse, Eternal Champion, Crypt Sermon, Die Choking, and Teeth.

ALBUM REVIEW: Memoriam – To The End


 

Would you like to know what’s one of my favorite aspects of metal? It’s that it’s too goddam stubborn to ever go away. As long as there is breath in a metalhead’s lungs they’re going to find ways to tune lower or crank in even more blast beats into a song. As To The End (Reaper Entertainment) roared from my car’s stereo is when I realized that Memoriam is Karl Willets’ latest musical endeavor despite already having a hall of fame run with Bolt Thrower. Bless that man.

STAFF PICKS: Torbjorn Solgard’s Top Albums of 2020



2020..What can I say? A  year where Poppy releases a metal album and Glenn Danzig does an album of Elvis covers (for real go look it up)! Seriously though I think it was a bad year for everyone. Luckily there was some killer music to help us all get through. So, I’ve compiled a list of what helped me. This list was a lot harder to make than I first thought it was going to be so much good stuff out there. To be clear though, this isn’t a “best of” it’s just a list of my personal fav’s this year.   So, enough bullshittin’ I present to you Torbjorn‘s 13.
