Max Cavalera to Launch “Max Talks” Web Series to Discuss His Career in Sepultura, Soulfly, and More!


Metal legend Max Cavalera, famous for his many bands such as founding Sepultura, Soulfly, Nailbomb, Cavalera Conspiracy, and Killer Be Killed and more has announced the launch of “Max Trax”, a twice-weekly Internet video series in which he will discuss the inspiration for many of the songs spanning his nearly 40-year music career. Jamey Jasta has shared a lyric video from his recent solo album, The Lost Chapters – Volume 2, which released in December. “Return From War” features metal legend Max Cavalera of Soulfly. Max and Igor Cavalera are Planning a “Return Beneath Arise’ US Tour 


In a new interview with That Metal Interview, Max Cavalera has revealed that he and his brother Igor are planning a new US leg of their popular “Return Beneath Arise’ tour of their Sepultura classics, performing selections from Beneath The Remains and Arise (both Roadrunner Records). Previously they toured behind a “Return To Roots” tour performing all of that album. According to Max, these tours have taken the place of Cavalera Conspiracy albums and tours for now. In a 2019 interview with Ghost Cult (seen.below), Max told us that he has many musical projects in the works, including further Cavalera conspiracy albums. Continue reading


ALBUM REVIEW: Sepultura – Quadra


It’s been twenty-three years since Derrick Green joined Brazilian thrash legends Sepultura. Although proving to be a hit with many, not everyone took to the new frontman straight away (if at all). The main reason for this seeming to be a simple case of – “he’s not Max”. Well, Derrick has been a part of Sepultura for almost twice as long as his predecessor now. Of course, this doesn’t magically make his material better, but it should at least give him a little slack. And let’s face it if you’re reading this, then at the very least, you’ve got some interest in post-Max Seps. Continue reading


CONCERT REVIEW: Max and Iggor Cavalera – Birmingham 02 Academy 2


Probably due to the bitterly cold December weather, the Academy 2 is already full to bursting by the time opening act Healing Magic hit their stride. Featuring a Cavalera who prefers to spell his name correctly, the Arizona based band are fronted by Max‘s youngest son Igor, and kick off the evening with some Black Sabbath inspired riffery which unsurprisingly goes down well in the home of metal. Jamey Jasta To Release New Solo Album via Exclusive Gas Digital Offer


Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed is releasing his long in the works solo project album Jasta: The Lost Chapters Volume 2 this fall. Jasta announced today that he is offering subscribers to his podcast, The Jasta Show, via Gas Digital a special offer to get early access to the two new singles and the album before the public can buy or stream it. The two singles are ‘Spilled Blood Never Dies’ ft Kirk Windstein of Crowbar, and ‘Silence the Enemy Mind’ with Billybio’s Billy Graziadei. The album features guest appearances from Max Cavalera, George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, Jesse Leach, Windstein, Howard Jones, Matthew K Heafy, Zoli Teglas, Billy Bio, Phil Rind, Tommy Victor, Joey Concepcion and Frankie Palmieri, as well as his backing band consisting of Charley and Nicky Bellmore (Dee Snider). Jasta will likely not tour behind this album right away since his focus for 2020 will be recording the new Hatebreed album. Jasta’s podcast airs two episodes weekly (Tuesday and Friday) in an interview format, often featuring hour-long, in-depth chats with legends. He is nearing 500 episodes, with the current edition #489, with Amigo The Devil, just aired.
