Peter Cullen, the legendary voice actor behind Optimus Prime and one of the most beloved figures in the worlds of animation, film, and pop culture, passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles on August 26, 2026. He was eighty-five years old. The heavy music world knew him well, from the original Transformers cartoon through seven blockbuster films and the recent 40th anniversary concert celebration that brought Knights of Unicron to the stage.
