Los Angeles melodic death metal act Thrown Into Exile has debuted their new vocalist, Joshua Santos, with the release of “Behind the Veil,” their first single on BLKIIBLK Records. Watch below.

Santos replaces Evan Seidlitz, who stepped away from the band after three years. The band addressed the departure: “Evan has been an integral part of this band’s history since its inception, and getting the opportunity to write music and share the stage together again over the past few years has been an amazing experience. Beyond the band, he is family, and there is nothing but love and respect between us.”
On Santos and the new direction, the band states: “The addition of Joshua Santos brings a whole new dynamic to Thrown Into Exile that showcases a more extreme side to us that has not really been done in the band’s history. This is only a taste of what’s to come from our new album, and we can’t wait to play this live in a city near you this year.”
The video was directed by Vicente Cordero. “Behind the Veil” finds the band leaning into a blackened melodeath direction, blending urgent riffing with underlying melodies that draw from both American and European sounds. Thrown Into Exile just finished supporting Dethklok and Amon Amarth. They will join Black Label Society for a European run before supporting Arch Enemy and The Black Dahlia Murder in the fall.
