CONCERT REVIEW: Power Trip – Ceremony – Frozen Soul – The Final Agony Live at The Knockdown Center

A hot sweaty night in Queens at a former industrial manufacturing plant turned music complex known as the Knockdown Center was an ideal setting for a limited run of dates for the Power Trip reunion. I had been fortunate enough to have captured PT a handful of times when Riley Gale (RIP) was still kicking ass, so I was really looking forward to getting a chance to see this homage on the anniversary of his passing.  It did not disappoint, bodies were flying over the rail left and right and I had to keep my head on a swivel. We might be entering a golden age of music festivals in the USA. Sure, everywhere you turn fans struggle to afford tickets, and some tours are tanking. Even a few festivals have had disastrous results. At the same time, the destination festival is beginning to thrive here, as we are trying to copy the model from Europe that has reigned for nearly four decades. Kicking off later this week, the first annual No Values festival, featuring The Original Misfits, Social Distortion, Iggy Pop, Turnstile, Bad Religion, Sublime, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and more at the Pomona Fairplex this Saturday, June 8th, 2024. The festival is produced by the legends at Goldenvoice! For one day only, many of the greatest punk bands of all time perform in one place, on four stages. Ceremony Shares New Single “The Doldrums (Friendly City)”  – 7 Inch Single Coming Soon


To celebrate the 10th anniversary of their excellent Rohnert Park release in June of 2010, California hardcore band Ceremony will drop a  limited 7″ single of ‘The Doldrums (Friendly City)’ with a previously unreleased b-side, “Into The Wayside Part V”, unearthed from the original Rohnert Park recording session and mastered by Will Killingsworth. The release comes from venerable label Bridge Nine Records! A one-time edition of 1,500 copies. This will be paired with a silver vinyl anniversary pressing of the Rohnert Park LP housed in a special silverboard jacket and expanded liner notes.
