Heavy Rock Legend Pete Way of UFO, Waysted Dies, Rockers React


 

Pete Way, best known as the bassist of UFO, Waysted, Fastway, The Pete Way Band  and more has died. He was just 69 years old. Pete sustained life-threatening injuries in an accident two months ago but fought hard until finally succumbing to those injuries at 11.35 a.m. BST today (Friday, August 14). His wife, Jenny, was at his side. Way had dealt with a number of health issues in recent years. In 2016, he suffered a heart attack, two years after he was given the all-clear following a battle with prostate cancer with which he was diagnosed in 2013. Way was diagnosed during a routine check on his liver, which had been damaged over the years through hepatitis. The abdominal scan picked up the tumor on his prostate gland.

Hatebreed Launches “Live for This Lager” with  Witchdoctor Brewing 


Hardcore/metal legends Hatebreed have teamed up with Witchdoctor Brewing Company to launch “Live For This” lager under the band’s new Breedbrew brand. The lager is named after the Grammy-nominated song from the band’s 2003’s album The Rise of Brutality. Hatebreed offered their own draft beer at their sold-out 25th Anniversary show in New Haven, CT last year. Now, they are bringing a new draft brew to their home state friends and fans. The band and the brewery have also partnered for a monthly schedule of events that will be socially distanced and safe as well as a canned version of the beer to be released in the coming months.  The first event is set for  Sunday, August 23 from 1-4PM ET.Continue reading

Coming This Fall, “Phil Lynott: Songs For While I’m Away”, a documentary about the life and work of Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy, has released a teaser trailer. award-winning Irish filmmaker Emer Reynolds and was produced by Universal Music’s Globe Production with backing from Screen Ireland. It is produced by Alan Maher and John Wallace for Cowtown Pictures and Peter Worsley for Eagle Rock Films. The film includes will include interviews with Thin Lizzy‘s Eric Bell, Scott Gorham, Darren Wharton, U2’s Adam Clayton, Suzi Quatro, Huey Lewis, Metallica’s James Hetfield and Ultravox’s Midge Ure. Fundraiser Launched for Van Williams Following the Passing of His Wife Dore


Last month legendary metal drummer Van Williams (Nevermore, Ghost Ship Octavius) lost his wife Dore (Dorraine) Williams to cancer after a tough battle over many years. In her memory, the USA Royal Affair Tour Fundraiser has been launched to help his family in their time of need. The 2019 Royal Affair Tour consisted of YES, ASIA, The John Lodge Band (featuring John Lodge of the Moody Blues) as well as the Carl Palmer (ELP) band. Van worked on the tour in production and was considered a cherished member of the crew. Proceeds will be given to Van to help aid him in the accumulation of bills stemming from their medical situation, as he is now a single parent and the touring and gig situation being what it is in the world right now, he can sued the help. Van is one of the best people in music so please check out the eBay auction list of amazing memorabilia below, and help out if you can.
