Jaded Star Divulged New Details About Memories From The Future

jaded star

Greek melodic metallers Jaded Star has divulged new details about their debut album Memories From The Future, out April 14th in North America and April 24th in Europe –via Sensory Records, a division of The Laser’s Edge.

Formed in 2013, Jaded Star was founded by vocalist Maxi Nil (ex-Visions of Atlantis) and drummer Raphael Saini (ex-Iced Earth), who recruited guitarist Kosta Vreto (Horizon’s End, Wardrum) and bassist Babis Nikou (Astral DNA, Opened Paradise, Dia Mageias) to complete the lineup. The quartet instantly amassed a vast array of new material and began touring across Europe.

With over forty-five minutes of Jaded Star’s energetic forward-thinking melodic heavy metal, Memories From The Future was produced by vocalist Maxi Nil (ex-Visions Of Atlantis), mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom at the legendary Fredman Studios in Sweden (Arch Enemy, At the Gates, Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Opeth, etc.), and features ten brand new epic anthems. The album showcases Maxi’s electrifying vocals and the masterful drum work Saini is known for. Guitar hero Kosta Vreto, with his unique finger strumming style, eschews the plectrum in favor of a raw, organic sound that literally comes straight through his hands. Babis Nikou on the bass brings a solid foundation and the chemistry between he and Maxi as the songwriting team provides emotion to match the power of the sound. The cover artwork for Memories From The Future was created by Lila Belivanaki.

Sorcerer Streaming “Sumerian Script”

sorcerer in the shadow of the inverted cross

Swedish epic doom metallers Sorcerer is streaming “Sumerian Script,” off their new album In The Shadow Of The Inverted Cross, out March 24, 2015 via Metal Blade Records, here.

Sorcerer was formed in Stockholm, Sweden in 1988 but disbanded after two demos in 1992. Both demos are considered true Doom Metal classics and have been released on CD in 1995. In 2010 the band came back together to play the Hammer of Doom festival in Germany and a year later the Up The Hammers festival in Athens, Greece. Both shows were received extremely well and the thoughts of putting together a new album started to take form. In the end it took over two years to write, arrange and record it but the result is nothing but pure, heavy epic doom metal. The process of putting all bits and pieces together and making it ready for mix and mastering was the work of drummer Robert Iversen, also a very fine recording engineer, who was acting as the spider in the recording web. The album was mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Devin Townsend).

Track Listing:
1. The Dark Tower of the Sorcerer
2. Sumerian Script
3. Lake of the Lost Souls
4. Excorcise the Demon
5. In the Shadow of the Inverted Cross
6. Prayers for a King
7. The Gates of Hell
8. Pagans Dance

SORCERER is:
Anders Engberg – vocals
Kristian Niemann – guitars
Peter Hallgren – guitars
Johnny Hagel – bass

UK melodic tech metal outfit Subversion is streaming “Catalyst,” off their sophomore release Animi, out March 3, 2015 via Rogue Records America, here.

Originating from the mind of Kai Giritli in 2008, Subversion has played internationally with the likes of Tesseract, Mnemic, Monuments, Xerath, Hacktivist and Chimp Spanner and has been part of UK Tech Metal Festival and Euroblast Festival.

The five-piece potently blends hard-hitting vocals from front man, Jay Shields, with Giritli’s soaring, hook-filled clean singing, guitar riffs that sway from heavy groove to epic melody and laser-tight percussion from drummer, Ben Atkinson.

Animi was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by guitarist/vocalist, Kai Giritli, and artwork comes courtesy of Snovonne Drake.

New Year’s Day Signs with Another Century

new years day

New Year’s Day will be releasing a brand new full length album later in 2015 via Another Century Records. Stream the music videos for “Defame Me” here and “Angel Eyes” (featuring Chris from Motionless In White) here.

New Year’s Day is a band that encourages their fans to embrace something that is very hard to do in a forward-thinking digital trend era; to be themselves. The Anaheim, CA band was put on the map in 2013 with their last full-length record Victim to Villain, but It is safe to say they have been through hell and back. From near-death touring experiences to bad record label situations, all of their blood sweat and tears have built a band beyond buzz-worthy and ready to show off their best songs to date. The band consists of captivating vocalist Ash Costello, bassist Tyler Burgess, guitarist Nikki Misery and drummer Nick Rossi.

The group will spend all summer on the Vans Warped Tour across North America in support of their their 5-song EP Epidemic, which was released through Grey Area Records last fall.

Tim Bowness Recording New Album

tim bowness

Tim Bowness has been in NAM Studios recording his forthcoming album, due out late Summer 2015 via InsideOut Music.

The album is a follow-up to 2014’s acclaimed Abandoned Dancehall Dreams and features Bowness’ live band (including Porcupine Tree‘s Colin Edwin), alongside Anna Phoebe, Peter Hammill, Andrew Keeling and other guests (to be announced shortly).

Tim had this to say:

“If Abandoned Dancehall Dreams was something of a bolder and more dynamic extension of No-Man’s ‘Schoolyard Ghosts,’ I’d say that the new album is something of a bolder and more dynamic extension of ‘Abandoned Dancehall Dreams.’ A logical step forward with some surprises, I hope. It’s been really exciting working with the band on most of the pieces and getting some special contributions from the likes of Anna Phoebe, Peter Hammill and Andrew Keeling.”

Tim Bowness is primarily known as vocalist/co-writer with the band No-Man, a long-running collaboration with Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree). In addition to releasing six studio albums and a documentary DVD with No-Man, Tim has worked with popular Italian artist Alice, Robert Fripp, Hugh Hopper (Soft Machine), OSI and Roxy Music‘s Phil Manzanera, amongst many others, and is a member of the bands Henry Fool and Memories Of Machines.
