Wayfarer Drop Single and Video for “To Enter My House Justified” – New Album Coming Soon

Colorado’s Wayfarer have just shared the new music video for “To Enter My House Justified”, directed by Alex Pace, starring “Denver Sound” legend Munly J. Munly and Michael Rouse. This is the second single from their upcoming Profound Lore/Century Media Records album, American Gothic, due out this October 27th. Continue below for the video and more.

Pre-order American Gothic (as worn-steel silver vinyl w/newspaper-look booklet or Ltd. CD digipak w/poster booklet) here

Shane McCarthy (vocals/guitars) comments as follows:

“To Enter My House Justified” is one of the first pieces we wrote for the new record, and certainly is one of the more visceral tracks on it. Aggressive and to the point, it tells the story of a desperate search for respite in a world where powers are changing.

The song is an important cornerstone of the record, and we are thrilled to present it with this striking video that our close associate Alex Pace helped create alongside us.”

It was an immense honor to have Munly J. Munly, of Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, Munly and the Lupercalians, DBUK and so many more seminal Colorado music acts perform as the star of the video. His presence in it is incredibly strong. The video also stars Michael Rouse (of Ghosts of Glaciers), and while it is in part a lens into the world of the record, it is also a bit of a nod to the American films of the late 1960’s and early 1970s which painted the ’Western‘ in a darker and more brutally honest light.”

The video for the first single, “False Constellation”, can also be seen here.

More from Wayfarer:

Wayfarer is the pre-eminent Western American Metal band. Comprised of four black clad players from Denver, Colorado, the band creates a thunderous and uniquely American genre of metal all to their own.

After ten years of existence, the band presents American Gothic – a defining statement of Western heavy music that explores the dark soul of the nation itself. This time working alongside accomplished producer Arthur Rizk (Eternal Champion, Kreator), the band brings an aggressive and expansive vision to life in a new full-length LP.

Led by powerful riffing, bleak melodic sensibilities, and pointed songwriting, this record serves as a funeral for the American dream. Caked in dust, and buried deep in blood and gunpowder, it paints a brutal and beautiful portrait, and sees Wayfarer elevate their unique and genuine brand of metal to new heights.

What we have now is a world full of oil drillers, and railroad barons. Cattle thieves and company men. This is the new American Gothic.”

FESTIVAL REVIEW: Roadburn Festival 2023

Let’s get one thing out of the way, Roadburn is still the premier underground fest that it has always been. I know so many people who went into this year’s fest expecting it to be their last, saying the lineup wasn’t for them, or that they didn’t like this change or that change. But I can tell you, they have all already booked rooms and bought tickets for next year. Change isn’t bad.

Saor – Falls of Rauros – Wayfarer Live at Saint Vitus Bar

Another night another show at Saint Vitus Bar. There’s a certain magic to the venue. The fact that there is an entire cult of people in New York City who realize if they go on any given night they are going to find music that they want to see. Music of a darker sort, the kind of stuff that is hard to discover but once you do there is no escape. Such was the case last night as the gathered masses basked in the magic of three of the finest bands in modern black metal, Falls of Rauros, Wayfarer,  and Saor. Continue reading
