FESTIVAL REVIEW: Oblivion Access – Various Venues – Austin, Texas     


 

 

After a two year postponement, Oblivion Access Festival finally happened! Although I couldn’t attend all four days of festivities, I drove up to Austin, TX on Saturday to catch the legendary hardcore Youth of Today! It only took over three decades to finally see them lol. The festival was quite an undertaking, involving a lot of local Austin venues on 5th, 6th, and 7th Street. After 3 /12 hours of driving I was ready to stretch my legs, get some blood moving and stay cool in the humid Texas heat. Picking up my passes was a breeze as there were signs posted at Native Hostel directing you to the kind staff who greeted people with friendly smiles and words of encouragement to enjoy themselves.

TombSnakes Shares New Single and Video – “Two Shakes”


New Mexico metallers TombSnakes , featuring members of The Saint James Society, Vigilantics, and True Widow will drop their debut EP, No Graves, due out March 18th, 2022  via Blank City Records. Check out the first single “Two Shakes”, which features guest vocals from True Widow’s Nicole Estill. Oblivion Access, the eclectic music festival highlighting hip-hop, electronic, avant-garde, and punk has added tremendous new names to the ever expanding bill. The multi-venue music festival returns to downtown Austin on May 12-15. Tickets to each of the newly announced festival concerts will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, February 11th, 2022 at 10 a.m. CT via the link below, in addition to a limited amount of full festival badges at the link below. Joining the lineup are Danny Brown to help headline the expanded four-day fest in addition to other new performers like Grouper, Andy Morin (of Death Grips), The Microphones, HO99O9, Massacre, Cities Aviv, King Woman, Billy Woods, and KTRK, among others. Power Trip Books Carcass, Vio-lence, Razor, Deafheaven, Sheer Mag, Drab Majesty and More for Evil Beat 2 Fest


Power Trip has dropped their big news they have been teasing! Their Evil Beast fest is back for round 2 with estival, Evil Beat returns to South Side Ballroom. 2020’s lineup includes: Carcass, Vio-lence, Razor, Deafheaven, Sheer Mag, Drab Majesty, Prurient, Warthog, Torche, Wiccans, Red Death, True Widow, Special Interest, Mil Spec, Dress Code and Power Trip. There will also be a kick-off show Friday, January 10 — more details to come. Tickets will be available tomorrow, October 10 at 10AM CST. Pre-sale details below! The new PT single ‘Hornet’s Nest’ also sees its release across all digital and streaming platforms. Originally debuted in June of 2018 as part of Adult Swim’s Single Series, the song has been a staple in the band’s live set, a fixture on satellite radio and a fan favorite ever since. Taking place at Taos Mesa Brewing (The Mothership and Taos Tap Room) the festival featured Om, The Obsessed, Dead Meadow, The Well, Tia Carrera, Wovenhand, Pinkish Black, Castle, Crypt Trip, EYE, Wino solo (unplugged), True Widow and many more on both indoor and outdoor stages with visual artist installations and camping. Roadburn Festival Kicks Off Today, John Baizley Of Baroness Curates The Weekend


 

The Roadburn Festival, the world première event for all things heavy, diverse, avant-garde, and underground begins today in Tilburg, NL  at various venues, under the watchful eye of founder Walter Hoeijmakers.
