Metal supergroup Metal Allegiance performed their annual show during winter NAMM last night at the House of Blues Anaheim. The band live-streamed their entire performance on Facebook, which you can now watch below. The band covered Black Sabbath, Slayer, Anthrax, Dio, Sepultura, The Misfits, Iron Maiden, as well their own hits. Joining the core band (Portnoy, Skolnick, Ellefson, Menghi) they were joined by Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), John Bush (Armored Saint), Chuck Billy (Testament), Bobby Blitz (Overkill), Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder), Mark Tornillo (Accept), Phil Demmel (Machine Head), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy) and Doyle W. Von Frankenstein (The Misfits). The night was presented by Nuclear Blast and sponsored by IK Multimedia, Murder in the Front Row, by Harald Oimoen & Brian Lew and Orange Amplifiers. Metal Allegiance To Reprise “Black Sabbath” Tribute At Their January Show


Metal supergroup Metal Allegiance has booked their 5th annual show at House Of Blues Anaheim on January 24th, and it promises to be a major rager. The band has now announced that they will reprise their tribute to Black Sabbath’s classic self-titled debut album, which performed in October at Brooklyn Bowl. Danzig’s Self-Titled Album Turns 30


By the time 1988 rolled around, Glenn Danzig was already a music legend with over a decade-long career under his ghoulish belt. He had already left his imprint on two influential punk bands. Although much more underground at the time than today, The Misfits was one of the preeminent hardcore punk bands to ever come into being. The were innovated, copied and had a huge mythos since they were relatively short-lived. Samhain was even more underground, playing up the splatter and gore theme of the horror punk angle, and had several influential releases. Moving on to a solo project, and partnering with mega-producer Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, Run D.M.C. LL Cool J) the Def American label honcho seemed like a calculated risk at the time. The results were explosive and arguably produced the best, most endearing music of Glenn’s career with his new band Danzig and his eponymous debut, which was released thirty years ago today. Doyle Discusses Headline Tour And Misfits Reunion Shows With Ghost Cult


Doyle Von Wolfgang Von Frankenstein or just Doyle for short is synonymous with punk and metal history. As a member of The Misfits and with his own solo material, Doyle has forged a career built on buzzsaw hardcore guitar riffs, heavy metal fury and horror punk aesthetics which he helped invent! Ghost Cult Magazine’s Keefy caught up with Doyle on his recent tour stop in New York city where his solo band slayed the solo crowd at Blackthorn 51 in Queens.
