Brooklyn Metal Bar and local NYC institution Duff’s Alcohol Abuse Center has closed temporarily, following a recent flood in their building. According to a post on the bar’s official Instagram, there was a flood, and the water damage was “minor,” and they hope to get the “green light to reopen soon. In addition to being a spot for the metal community of New York to gather nightly, the bar has hosted countless events, from after-show parties, album premieres, and memorials like one for our brother Wayne last year, and much more. especially with the loss of other spaces, such as Saint Vitus Bar, and The Kingsland (although both live on via booking other venues for metal and punk shows) the last few years, it hurts to see it go dark, even just briefly.
