Look, the world is completely in garbage mode at the moment, but would new music from one Mike Patton make waking up less dreadful? How about Patton fronting a Thrash metal act? Sweetens the deal up a bit, right? Fortunately for all of us Mike Patton has reactivated Mr. Bungle, recruited a couple of talented newcomers in Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo, and decided to re-record the 1986 demo The Raging Wrath of The Easter Bunny (Ipecac).

Anthrax Releases Two Signature Rye Whiskeys – “Evil Twin I” And “Evil Twin II” 


Legendary Thrash metal band Anthrax has announced their two new signature whiskey brands – “Evil Twin I” and “Evil Twin II,” limited edition, award-winning, high-end Double Cask Ryes. Only one barrel of each spirit will be produced, yielding 238 numbered bottles for “Evil Twin I” at cask strength of 120.1 proof. As “Evil Twin II” has not yet been “dumped,” the number of bottles and cask strength for it will be announced shortly. “Evil Twin I” is available to order starting today at Mash and Grape, and, if ordered before 10/23, delivery can be expected by 10/31, in time for Halloween! Details for ordering “Evil Twin II” will be announced shortly. Anthrax previously entered the spirits game with “The Healer” Bourbon and Anthrax Wardance Pale Ale Beer. Mr. Bungle Announce Live Stream Event for Halloween


Mr. Bungle will release The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo, on Oct. 30 via Ipecac Recordings, have announced a Halloween special: “The Night They Came Home!” a virtual live concert experience. The special event will feature a performance from the current incarnation of Mr. Bungle: Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn, Trey Spruance, Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo. Tickets are $15 and available now at the link below. The first screening airs at 12 noon pacific/3 pm eastern on Oct. 31 with the on-demand program available for the following 72 hours. An array of exclusive, commemorative merchandise, including a limited (1000 copies) neon green vinyl variant, will be available to attendees. Watch the trailer now!

ALBUM REVIEW: Anthrax – Persistence of Time Reissue


As strange as it may seem, 1988 stands as the only year where each member of the “The Big Four” all released new studio albums. Go on, check if you want. I’ll wait. 

With Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, and Metallica having pulled significantly away from the rest of the pack with those 1988 releases, the beginning of the ’90s gave each of them the chance to reaffirm their place at the top of the thrash metal food chain. Along with the likes of Testament, Exodus, and Kreator, 1990 opened the new decade in a blaze of glory while also becoming arguably the last truly great year for the genre.Continue reading

Mr. Bungle Teases New Song Coming Later This Week


Mr. Bungle is teasing a new song, coming later this week, Thursday, August 13th! The band earlier this summer shared their cover of The Exploited’s political punk anthem ‘USA’! That single and limited edition t-shirt is out now with 100% of proceeds donated to Musicares Covid-19 Relief Fund! The Bay Area band, whose current incarnation features original members Trevor Dunn, Mike Patton (Faith No More, Dead Cross) and Trey Spruance with Scott Ian (Anthrax, S.O.D) and Dave Lombardo (Dead Cross, ex-Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies), has recorded new music for an EP release, potentially including the seminal demo The Raging Wrath of The Easter Bunny, and new covers and new versions of unreleased songs the band played on their February mini-tour.
