The remaining living members of Soundgarden have not played together since Chris Cornell died in May of 2017 and the subsequent 2019 tribute concert in Los Angeles. Last night in Seattle at the legendary Showbox Theater the band reunited with local post-Grunge / Soul singer Shania Shepherd to perform a short set of Soundgarden hits, deep cuts, and a cover as The Nudedragons for the Smooch Children’s Hospital benefit show. The band were also joined by Guns N Roses bassist and friend Duff McKagan who also performed tonight. They played “Kickstand” and covered “Kick Out The Jams” by The MC5. Founding members of Acid Bath Dax Riggs (Golgotha, Deadboy & And The Elephantmen and Sammy Duet (Goatwhore, ex-Crowbar, ex-EyeHateGod), have confirmed details of the band’s reunion on social media at the 2025 Sick New World Festival. Acid Bath has not played a gig in 30 years and two other key members, bassist Audie Pitre and keyboardist Tomas Viator, have died in the interim years. Mike Sanchez (guitars, vocals) will take part in the festival. Sick New World will take place on April 12th, 2025 in Las Vegas, NV. A video posted by guitarist/vocalist Sammy Duet confirmed that the lineup will be rounded out by Goatwhore drummer Zack Simmons and bassist Alex Bergeron (Former Agents of Oblivion). Riggs for his part announced new solo music the day before, also a shocker.
Slayer played their second comeback show since they retired in 2019 and un-retired at Riot Fest last month, and after they missed playing at Louder Than Life. Twenty-five years since their dissolution and Noise-Rockers The Jesus Lizard are back, with the classic line-up of Mac McNeilly – Drums, David Wm Sims – Bass, Duane Denison – Guitar, and David Yow – Vocals now fully restored. A quick history lesson for the uninitiated, the band formed in Austin, Texas in 1987 from the ashes of Scratch Acid, before relocating to Chicago in 1989. From there they would go onto put out a string of groundbreaking releases including a split single with some band called Nirvana, who you may have heard of. Continue reading
Thrash Metal legends Slayer made their glorious return last night as the final headline act of Riot Fest 2024! They played a 19-song setlist with the classic track and even some rare deep cuts they haven’t played in many years. The band will play two more shows, next week at Louder than Life (UPDATE: Slayer was rained out along with the rest of Day 2 of LTL due to Hurricane Helene), and Aftershock Festival in October!

Oasis has been teasing a reunion announcement for this week. The band will make an announcement tomorrow at 8 AM GMT that will likely include a world tour and festival dates. The members of the band, including the infamous Gallagher brothers on their socials. The band officially split up in 2009 but had years of fighting in the press and in real life too. This year marks the anniversary of their second album Definitely Maybe, and1995 will be the 30th anniversary of their huge hit record What’s The Story (Morning Glory).Continue reading
In a surprising announcement, Grindcore legends Wormrot have reunited with their classic lineup! In a post to social media, the band has welcomed back drummer Fitri, who has been out of the band since 2015, and vocalist Arif, who quit in 2022. Guitarist Rasyid is still with the group, rounding out the trio. They also promised new music in 2025, making it an early pick for one of the most anticipated metal releases, next year. Modern Melodic Death Metal legends Light This City reunited briefly on stage for a rare performance this weekend at a show in Redwood City, California! The band played at The Hub Saturday on 4/20, 2024. Darkness Everywhere, featuring members of Light This City, opened for Crepuscle and The Hunt, and were joined by their former LTC members vocalist Laura Nichol and guitarist Steve Hoffman. The band bands for a performance of “The Unwelcome Savior!” Laura Nichol of LTC and other projects recently did a feature on a new Darkness Everywhere single and music video “The Architect of Misery,” which was also performed, from their upcoming new album To Conquer Eternal Damnation, dropping on May 10th from Creator-Destructor Records.
