Daron Beck, Vocalist and Keyboardist for Pinkish Black, Has Died


Sad news as Pinkish Black vocalist and keyboardist Daron Beck has died. The announcement of his passing came from their former label, Relapse Records on social media. No cause of death has been specifically noted, the post stated he passed from a “medical illness.” Pinkish Black released five albums in eleven years, most recently Vanishing Light in the Tunnel of Dreams (Ayler Records) in 2020. Many bands joined the label in paying respects. We extend our deepest condolences to Beck’s friends, family, bandmate Jon Teague, and fans.

Roadburn 2022 Adds Lingua Ignota, Emma Ruth Rundle, 40 Watt Sun, Mizmor and More!


Roadburn 2022 has announced a massive wave of essential artists added to the line-up! Lingua Ignota, Emma Ruth Rundle, 40 Watt Sun, Mizmor and many more now  join the festival! These bands join the previously announced acts Ulver, Sólstafir, Alcest, Backxwash, Russian Circles, artist in residence – Full of Hell and many others. Roadburn Festival will take place between April 21-24 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Tickets for Roadburn 2022 are on sale now. Friday and Saturday day tickets are sold out. Thursday and Sunday day tickets, 3-day and 4-day tickets remain in limited numbers.

ALBUM REVIEW: Pinkish Black – Concept Unification


I basically came out of the womb listening to music. I was lucky enough to be one of those children that grew up being exposed to a multifaceted plethora of music genres. Today, when I started listening to the new album by Pinkish Black, Concept Unification (Relapse Records), I was caught up in a wave a delightful nostalgia. The music flooding my ear holes, created by the Fort Worth Texas duo of Jon Teaque and Daron Beck eerily reminded me of the solo work of one of my favorite bassist of all time, John Entwisle. Entwisle did an album in 1972, titled Whistle Rymes (MCA Records), that I feel the new Pinkish Black album echo’s. What am I trying to say here? Royal Thunder Set To Kick Off Tour With Pinkish Black Tonight


Atlanta doom rock masters Royal Thunder kicking off a new run of headline tour dates on their ongoing run to support their amazing 2017 album Wick (Spinefarm). Supported by Pinkish Black, the tour kicks off tonight in Tampa, FL at the Coppertail Club. Tickets to all dates to the tour on sale via the bands’ website and Facebook. Earlier in the week, the band announced via social media that they have undergone a lineup change. Drummer Evan DiPrima has stepped down from the band and is being replaced by Ken Taberle.
