Ghost Reveals “New” Frontman
Enigmatic occult rockers Ghost has finally unveiled their new frontman and leader, the replacement for Papa Emeritus III. Rather than another Papa, (an aged Papa Zero was teased), the band has introduced “Cardinal Copia” as their new frontman. Usually, an announcement of this kind is the forerunner to a new single or new album details, which may be incoming from the band. A tour has been announced with new images of the previous Papa incarnation, so its possible the Cardinal one of the many guises the ghost frontman takes in concert.
Frank Mullen Announces His Retirement From Suffocation
Sad news this weekend as Frank Mullen has announced he has officially left Suffocation. Although he had already stepped down from full-time touring and nixed future full albums with the band he helped make death metal legends, he had occasionally toured with them. Mullen called this a more permanent, final move in his career. In a video posted to his fan page on Facebook, Mullen said he is done with activity with the long-running band to pursue acting and other projects in the future. Mullen’s final work with the band can be heard on 2017’s … Of The Dark Light album, which was released on Nuclear Blast. As of late, vocalist Ricky Meyers has been replacing Mullen on live performances. Frank will do one last tour with Suffocation later in 2018 before calling it a day. Continue reading
Royal Thunder Set To Kick Off Tour With Pinkish Black Tonight
Atlanta doom rock masters Royal Thunder kicking off a new run of headline tour dates on their ongoing run to support their amazing 2017 album Wick (Spinefarm). Supported by Pinkish Black, the tour kicks off tonight in Tampa, FL at the Coppertail Club. Tickets to all dates to the tour on sale via the bands’ website and Facebook. Earlier in the week, the band announced via social media that they have undergone a lineup change. Drummer Evan DiPrima has stepped down from the band and is being replaced by Ken Taberle.
