Watch Metallica, Korn, Heart, Mastodon, members of Soundgarden and More Pay Tribute to Alice in Chains Live at MoPop

Yesterday, Alice In Chains was awarded the prestigious Founders Award from Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop). They were celebrated for their 30-year career by a cadre of their friends and peers playing AIC covers from the Rock and Metal world such as Metallica, Korn, Mastodon, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, and Fishbone, as well as members of Guns N’ Roses, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, and others. Alice In Chains also performed their first show since the end of their tour cycle for 2018’s Rainier Fog album in 2019. The event was This year’s celebration was broadcast virtually on Amazon Music’s Twitch Channel watched by more than 275,000 people and raised over $600,000 USD. ALBUM REVIEW: Armored Saint – Punching The Sky

Showing no visible signs of wear and tear, classic Los Angeles metallers Armored Saint return with eighth studio album Punching the Sky (Metal Blade). Noted for their consistency in both output and personnel, you have to go all the way back to 1987’s Raising Fear (Chrysalis) to find a studio album with a different line-up. A surprising level of stability considering two lengthy hiatuses and the untimely death of original guitarist Dave Prichard.

Queen is Facing Legal Hurdles Trying to Stop Donald Trump From Using Their Music

According to a published report, the management for Queen described the band’s attempts to stop Donald Trump from using its music in social media campaigns as an “uphill battle.” Earlier this week, Trump’s campaign used their classic song “We Will Rock You” in a video on TikTok competitor Triller. The video has not yet been taken down.A spokesman for Queen  told BBC News said it has “repeatedly taken issue with the Trump campaign,” adding that “the band itself has been quite outspoken on the subject.” This is not the first time Queen and Trump have clashed over his unauthorized use of the band’s music. Last October, the band filed a copyright infringement notice over the unauthorized use of “We Will Rock You” in a another Trump campaign video. The clip was eventually removed from Twitter “in response to a report from the copyright holder.” Queen also clashed with Trump four years ago on the campaign trail when then-Republican presidential hopeful Trump for using the band’s 1977 song “We Are The Champions” without permission.Continue reading →

The inevitable march towards environmental destruction and a certain perma-tanned incumbent of The White House have lit a spark under Pearl Jam, in part inspiring new album Gigaton (Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records). “The lengths we had to go to then, to find a place Trump hadn’t fucked up yet” Eddie Vedder spits on ‘Quick Escape’, a moody, mid-paced rocker about an environmentally ravaged future.
