Linkin Park to Host Meteora 20th Anniversary Fan Q and A Livestream 


 

Linkin Park will host a 20th anniversary Meteora livestream and fan Q&A, live on YouTube today. Meteora turned 20 years old on March 25th, and you can read our retrospective here. All of this LP activity comes six years after the tragic death of Chester Bennington. The band has stated repeatedly there is no roadmap as yet decided by the band to continue without Chester. Meteora gave us the hits “Somewhere I Belong,” “Breaking the Habit,” and “Numb!” The Album which sold 8 million copies is getting a reissue boxed set on many formats. To mark the 20th anniversary of this landmark release, the album was reissued on April 7 in multiple formats: Limited Edition Super Deluxe Box Set, 4 LP Deluxe Vinyl Box Set, 3-disc Deluxe CD, and digital: all containing a wealth of previously unreleased or rare tracks.

Linkin Park released a new single and animated video for their previously released track called “Fighting Myself” – today Friday, March 24th, 2023. The song is from the Meteora album in 2003 and never had a proper music video. The track comes six years after the tragic death of Chester Bennington. The band has stated repeatedly there is no roadmap as yet to continue without Chester. Linkin Park has teased a previously unreleased track called “Lost” this Friday, February 10th, 2023. The song is leftover from the Meteora album sessions in 2003. The band has teased an 18-second snippet of the track, as well as turned their website into a Meteora and LP-themed treasure hunt sure to enthrall die-hard fans. Let’s take a minute and talk about hype. We all have a vague notion of what it is, but how does one obtain it? Can it be harnessed long term or is it a matter of riding that wave while it’s marginally available? For instance, how did Job For A Cowboy use it to jump from MySpace unto Metal Blade? Beats me. Linkin Park “Somewhere I Belong” Single Certified Silver in the U.K.


One of the biggest and best-selling bands of all-time, Linkin Park has another certified hit single with ‘Somewhere I Belong’ in the U.K. To earn a single certification for a single in the U.K., Linkin Park had to sell 200,000 units of the song. The track comes from their album Meteora. The platinum, gold and silver certifications awarded by the British Phonographic Industry in recognition of sales milestones have included audio streaming data since June 2015, with 1,000 streams counting as one “sale.” The bands’ debut album Hybrid Theory turns 20 years old later this year and the band is planning a series of “special things” for fans to enjoy. When Chester Bennington died on July 20th, it sent a shockwave through the music world. Although there seems to have been a lesser number of deaths in the music world this year compared to last, they have been no less painful. The fact that he died by suicide is tragic, and should not come with any sort of stigma, or lessen his greatness and accomplishments. As a singer, musician, and icon in the rock world, in many ways, he served as the distinctive voice of the millennial generation, in a way few others have.Continue reading
