Moon Destroys is debuting their self-produced full-length album, She Walks By Moonlight (Limited Fanfare Records). The band is the brainchild of guitarist Juan Montoya (ex-Torche, MonstrO) and drummer Evan Diprima (Gold Pyramid, ex-Royal Thunder). Having released their 2020 EP, Maiden Voyage, they’ve spent the past few years refining their sound—crafting a powerhouse blend of heavy rock and psychedelia. ALBUM REVIEW: coldrain – Nonnegative
Fifteen years, and now seven albums into a successful career that has seen them move into both chart success status in their native Japan and mainstream culture by providing the opening theme for Netflix original anime series Bastard, Nagoya five-piece metalcore outfit coldrain are back following the longest gap between releases, with new offering Nonnegative (Warner Japan).
Stone Sour – Hydrograd
It’s not often that a side project from an acclaimed band can stand on par with said original group. After all, a lot of sidebands become the vacation parent to fans; as a stop-gap measure for artists to toss eager followers a bone in between releases. However, that is not true of Stone Sour, launched in the shadows of Slipknot, and for over fifteen years has slowly ascended to the hard rock pantheon on their own merits.
